[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I am trying to brainstorm middle names that hold special meaning or honor someone/something in my life. I’ll post what I’ve already thought of, but I’m ultimately looking for suggestions.
[name_f]April[/name_f] - my middle name, goes with the month name trend in the family
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] - meaning relates to happiness
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f] - means happiness
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - honors someone with the name [name_m]Charles[/name_m] who positively impacted my life
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] - means light
[name_f]Eulalie[/name_f] - roughly means well spoken, something I hope for my daughter
[name_f]Florence[/name_f] - honors my mother’s love of gardening, but this has been used by distant family (also as an honor name oddly enough). Off limits?
[name_f]Helen[/name_f] / [name_f]Helena[/name_f] - means bright, which goes with light and imo, happiness
[name_f]Johanna[/name_f] - honors my father’s MN, [name_m]John[/name_m]
[name_u]July[/name_u] - my birth month, goes with the month name trend in the family
[name_f]Louise[/name_f] - best friend’s given name, and one I’m fond of, but she dislikes her name. Does that make it off limits or not special to use?
[name_f]May[/name_f] - my father’s birth month, goes with the month name trend
[name_f]Miranda[/name_f] - honors my father’s FN, [name_u]Randy[/name_u]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] - to me, it’s like calling her my precious pearl
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] - my birthstone
[name_u]Valentine[/name_u] - like the name meaning “strong, vigorous, healthy” and is like calling her my [name_u]Valentine[/name_u]
[name_u]Winter[/name_u] - my favorite season and subtly honors my mother, who has a winter birthday (she dislikes her name so I thought this is a good work-around)
As for suggestions, I’m looking for anything that strikes you from reading the above names, but especially names with positive meanings like happiness, strength, light, beloved, etc. Another thought I had was maybe literary names to honor the creativity in my family?
Sorry for the long, rambling post. I hope it makes sense, and am looking forward to new ideas!
