I feel like our list is getting stale. He could probably care less but I want to be in love with my top names when the time does come to pick one.
So I’m asking you for some suggestions!
We seems to agree on more feminine names. I don’t generally like unisex names, or noun names. I do hold French citizenship (as well as American) so some of our list is French but I don’t have to have a French name. Mine is though (even has an accent!) so it would be a cute like. My SO is half-Australian and half-American. I don’t know if that changes anything, but we’d prefer names that aren’t going to mean something unexpected if we move to one of our other countries.
I tend to like names that are a bit unusual but nothing way out there. My name is not in the top 1000 in the US. I am not afraid od accents or other cultures. I do like some classics, but most of them I either find too plain or too popular.
I want a name that evokes intelligence, independence, and femininity (it doesn’t have to be overly frilly or anything, but I like being proud of being female!). I love to write, and my SO has a theater background so literary tributes can sometimes earn bonus points.
I’m intentionally not mentioning any off our list because I’m curious as to what that description makes you think of!
Also, based on our family members and genetics, we could honestly have a child with blonde, red, brown, or black hair. Some people like to visualize when they choose names…some people like to break it down by hair color…whatever works for you!
I think the main thing with French names is that I know most of them. I like [name]Josephine[/name], but I don’t consider it a French name. Yes you can say it on both languages, but without even a change in spelling it’s pretty impossible to make people not say it in English.
[name]Juliette[/name] is on our list although I worry about popularity. [name]Wren[/name] is on our GP list. I love [name]Adele[/name], but it’s unusable for us. We both like [name]Charlotte[/name] but I find it too popular. I like [name]Fleur[/name] maybe in the middle but for me it’s too much of a word for up front. I [name]ADORE[/name] [name]Gemma[/name] but I have reservations.
I have found that I’m drawn to a lot of french girls’ names because they are so feminine. I like
