Suggestions - Baby Boy Number 2

Hey!

So my husband and I found out that baby #2 (not due until [name_u]July[/name_u]) will be a boy. Our first son is named [name_m]Eero[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] and at this rate new babe will be [name_m]Eero[/name_m] 2…lol. Boy names are so. hard for me. Our last name starts with an S and is 2 syllables so S and X ending names are usually vetoed (even though my husband is [name_u]Alex/name_u I still am not crazy about the x-s sound in his name). [name_m]Eero[/name_m] is named after our favorite architect (my husband has his masters in arch. and there is a cute story relating to his time in school behind our son’s name). I’m thinking we will stick to a shorter, if not the same 4-letter format for boy 2.

HOWEVER, I love the rhythm of [name_m]Eero[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] and was wondering if maybe baby 2 could be the reverse (ie. 4 syllable first with short middle). Right now I like a lot of shorter names and maybe a 4 syllable name would never match up with [name_m]Eero[/name_m] and sound right the way [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] does but here’s hoping the berries have some awesome suggestions!

Here’s the list of names we are considering:

[name_m]Eames[/name_m] (not sure we want to stick to theme-y architectural names but there are a couple)
[name_m]Mies[/name_m] (see [name_m]Eames[/name_m])
[name_m]Frey[/name_m] (husband not sold)
[name_u]Roux[/name_u] (again, husband not sold but I cannot get OVER it!! maybe middle???)
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m]
[name_m]Graham[/name_m]
[name_u]Emerson[/name_u]
[name_m]Fox[/name_m] (not sure but can’t get rid of it yet)
[name_m]Wilder[/name_m]

As you can see, we are all over the place in terms of style: Scandinavian, leaning toward unusual with a couple of slightly more popular thrown in (not my typical preference)… not sure which way to take this one, naming [name_m]Eero[/name_m] was hard enough! lol

Thanks in advance!

My favorites from your list are [name_m]Graham[/name_m] and [name_u]Emerson[/name_u]. [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] [name_u]Roux[/name_u] sounds nice.

Oh my, I love [name_u]Roux[/name_u]! And [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] and [name_m]Fox[/name_m]!! I can’t quite decide what I think about [name_m]Frey[/name_m] :). Great ideas, it looks like you have at least a bit of a list going, which is great. As far as suggestions go, I don’t feel like I know exactly what line to go down, but what do you think of…

Oh my god, why did I not put those 2 names together?!?!??? I think i just fell in [name_u]LOVE[/name_u]! Thanks so much!!!

And this is why fresh eyes are always a good idea!

@columbia Oooo…even tho [name_m]Amedeo[/name_m] is not my style, I have to say I love the flow! Thank you for all of the suggestions!

@medford I have thought of and like [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]! It’s on the backburner just in case  thanks for the great suggestions!

Looks like you’ve found some suggestions you love. [name_m]Just[/name_m] in case you’re still looking, I’ve been thinking about names that your husband might like - he might be more willing to compromise with a name you love if the middle is architectural? Or if there’s an architecture-related first you both like, maybe you could pair it with a middle you love (even if your husband’s not a fan).

I wonder if [name_m]Aalto[/name_m] might suit? Another short, 2 syllable, double-vow Finnish architecture. Maybe in the middle if it’s too matchy? Or [name_m]Alvar[/name_m], [name_m]Henrik[/name_m], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] ([name_m]Aalto[/name_m]'s first names)?

[name_u]Emerson[/name_u] [name_m]Aalto[/name_m] or [name_m]Alvar[/name_m] [name_u]Roux[/name_u]? [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]Fox[/name_m], [name_m]Henrik[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m]?

NB also has a list of architect-inspired names if you want more inspiration:

[name_m]Frey[/name_m] [name_u]Nouvel[/name_u], [name_u]Roux[/name_u] [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u], [name_m]Inigo[/name_m] [name_m]Fox[/name_m] etc ?

Good luck, and congratulations!
