[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone! I am expecting a baby in early [name_u]March[/name_u]! I do not yet know the gender but I will in about 2 weeks. My husband and I haven’t gotten too much in to names yet, but we are having trouble with boy name options. Of my list, he thinks they are all alright, but doesn’t love any of them. The only boy name he has ever mentioned liking was [name_m]David[/name_m] (after [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m] in the Bible, who he admires) but that name is out since we work with a [name_m]David[/name_m] in our office everyday.
Can you suggest anything similar to these that my husband may like? Overall, we like normal but not overly common or popular names. No weird spellings, no made up names. Middle name will likely be [name_m]Edward[/name_m] after his father who recently passed from brain cancer. Our last name starts with a “K” and is pronounced like [name_u]Kay[/name_u]-ding…
Absolutely it was the story of [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m] that my husband loved first and then the name by default! He likes the life lesson that even the best men can royally screw up but in the end still live a great life with meaning and purpose. We both grew up going to church but are not highly religious now so a general Biblical theme I don’t think would appeal to him unless it also had a great story with it. I do love the name [name_m]Luke[/name_m] but that is his brother’s name so that is out. I will have to run these lists by him though! He does like my options but doesn’t seem too excited about them like he does for a few of the girl names we like.
You have a great list to start with:) I personally adore [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_m]Colin[/name_m].
So maybe a Biblical name with a great story and that also fits with your modern-classic style…
What about [name_m]Josiah[/name_m]? It’s strong and Biblical, plus it’s a modern favorite (not too popular, though). [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] became king at a very young age and was the first king since [name_m]David[/name_m] to really love and obey God. He was easily one of the best kings [name_m]Israel[/name_m] had ever had, good and wise as he grew older. Probably not as memorable as [name_m]David[/name_m], but close.
Or perhaps [name_m]Daniel[/name_m]? It even starts with the same letter as [name_m]David[/name_m]. [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] in the lion’s den is one of the most memorable Bible stories ever, right? It associates the name with courage and honor. [name_m]Daniel[/name_m], too, is a timeless name that may appeal to you as well.
Other names I’d suggest that you might like:
[name_m]Peter[/name_m]
[name_m]Matthew[/name_m]
[name_u]Michael[/name_u]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m]
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m]
[name_m]Isaac[/name_m]
[name_m]Judah[/name_m]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u]
[name_m]Andrew[/name_m]
[name_m]Asher[/name_m]
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m] is one of my top boys’ names, and [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] is up there too!
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_u]Everett[/name_u]? I’m not great with boys names sorry, but maybe [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] instead of [name_m]Connor[/name_m]? Could you use just [name_m]Harris[/name_m] instead of [name_m]Harrison[/name_m]?
I actually really like [name_m]Crosby[/name_m] too!
