I am pregnant wit my third child. I have a boy who is 12, and a girl who is 5. They both have unusual names…the boy’s name ends with an O…the girl’s name is Greek and ends with an “[name_m]AH[/name_m]” sound. Our last name sounds like [name_u]Carrey[/name_u], so I would like to find pretty and uncommon names that do not end in an “E” sound. I love the names [name_f]Calliope[/name_f], [name_f]Delphi[/name_f], and [name_f]Persephone[/name_f], but the end sound restriction eliminates those. If at all possible, I’d like to find a name with a different ending sound than my other kids, so no “O” or “ah” either. I am at a loss. Any suggestions would be wonderful! Thanks.
It would help to know your kids names. I’m not great with the type if names you lean toward. Suggestions:
[name_f]Athena[/name_f]
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
[name_f]Xanthe[/name_f]
[name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]
[name_f]Diana[/name_f]
Daphne
Allegra
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]
We are considering another “ah” sound ending name, and have [name_f]Delia[/name_f] and [name_f]Thalia[/name_f] on the list. After thinking about it, I might have been putting too many restrictions
[name_m]How[/name_m] about:
[name_f]Delphine[/name_f]
[name_f]Magdalene[/name_f]
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Plum[/name_f]
[name_f]Coral[/name_f]
[name_f]Magdalena[/name_f]
[name_f]Sapphira[/name_f]
[name_f]Artemisia[/name_f]
[name_f]Zosia[/name_f]
[name_f]Pandora[/name_f]
[name_f]Acadia[/name_f]
[name_f]Athena[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Luna[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanora[/name_f]
Odeya
[name_f]Rosalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]
[name_f]Delphine[/name_f] was one I suggested, but the husband vetoed it. Ditto on [name_f]Iris[/name_f].
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] was on our list for our daughter, but we worried about connotations, and ultimately decided on a different Greek name.
[name_f]Magdalena[/name_f] is going on the list. Thanks!
I’d like to suggest [name_f]Oriana[/name_f]! It has the same feel as Pherperone and [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] and sounds like it may go well with your other kids’ names.
I see you like Greek names, so I ditto the suggestion of [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]. What about [name_f]Theodora[/name_f], [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], [name_f]Althea[/name_f], Musidora or [name_f]Olympia[/name_f]?
[name_u]Damaris[/name_u]
[name_f]Isaura[/name_f]
[name_f]Elisabetta[/name_f]
[name_f]Maren[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Katrin[/name_f]
[name_f]Jessamy[/name_f]
I love the name [name_f]Olympia[/name_f]. I know thats the “ah” sound. I also love the name [name_f]Thalassa[/name_f] (also the “ah” sound). I have also always loved the name [name_f]Eleni[/name_f], which I’ve only heard on a lovely Greek woman I went to college with. I also love [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Matar[/name_f], [name_f]Avital[/name_f]… I’ll have to think of a few others!
[name_f]Araminta[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Jacinta[/name_f]
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]
[name_f]Leilani[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]
[name_f]Melisande[/name_f]
[name_f]Paloma[/name_f]
[name_f]Philomena[/name_f]
[name_f]Sarai[/name_f]
[name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophronia[/name_f]
[name_f]Theodosia[/name_f]
