Kind of a thought exercise more than anything else, but not quite a game… Although I’m not yet pregnant with the first, I am the type of crazy person who had every paint color and finish selected for our new house before the deal was even signed. I’d genuinely like to think I have it all figured out (even though life unfailingly proves me wrong on that one).
Think of last name Bedelmann. I worry lots about flow/repetitive sounds, so please try saying the whole name together (girls especially). I am also trying to avoid names that have the same beginning or ending sounds as other siblings.
These are the names to match, since we are pretty happy with them (for now!):
Please pick one from each of the following groups to complete the set!
Boy number 3 - the challenging lamb
[name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Pascal[/name_m]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Pascal[/name_m]
[name_m]Jonah[/name_m] [name_m]Pascal[/name_m] - (personal note, I love the meaning of this one)
Girl number 1 - the radiant A’s
[name_f]Amalia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Adele[/name_f] [name_f]Johanna[/name_f] - (worried about the ‘del’ sound)
[name_f]Alina[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] (my favorite by far)
Girl number 2 - quest for a [name_f]Ro[/name_f]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] (definitely my favorite, but I’ve been told it doesn’t fit with our tastes)
[name_f]Rosemarie[/name_f] [name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosamond[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f]
Girl number 3 - Miss [name_f]May[/name_f]
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_u]Clare[/name_u]/[name_f]Claire[/name_f] (you can give your opinion on MN spelling, but I honestly don’t care either way; I like them both)
[name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] [name_u]Clare[/name_u]
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_u]Marian[/name_u] [name_u]Clare[/name_u]
[name_f]Mariana[/name_f] [name_u]Clare[/name_u]
[name_f]Mairi[/name_f] [name_u]Clare[/name_u]
[name_f]Mairi[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]
[name_u]Marian[/name_u] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
Thanks, I can’t wait to see what you guys come up with.
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Silas[/name_m] Emerick
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Pascal[/name_m]
[name_f]Alina[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosamond[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] (I think the [name_m]French[/name_m] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is better with both [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] and [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]. It breaks up the look of the repetitive “ar”)
Thanks [name_u]Mischa[/name_u], I’m loving that list.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_f]Alina[/name_f] sticks out too much? Would [name_f]Adelina[/name_f] be better?
No, I actually like [name_f]Alina[/name_f] with [name_f]Rosamond[/name_f] and [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]. It’s shorter but they all have three syllables. Also, they all share a European vibe. Anyway, I have a feeling you don’t love [name_f]Adelina[/name_f] as much as [name_f]Alina[/name_f], do you?
Keep in mind you may need more than 3 girls and 3 boys assuming you aren’t genetically controlling the situation. (you could have four girls before you have one boy)
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m], [name_m]Silas[/name_m], and
[name_m]Jonah[/name_m] (I picked this one, because you said it was your favorite. I like this the best with [name_m]Silas[/name_m]. I think [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] leave [name_m]Silas[/name_m] odd man out. [name_u]Jude[/name_u] would be my second choice.)
[name_f]Alina[/name_f] ([name_f]Adele[/name_f] doesn’t work with your last name. [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] is long especially in a long list of siblings)
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] followed by [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] (I think [name_f]Rosemarie[/name_f] is too likely to be confused with [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] anyway.) I think [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] sounds fine with your sibset. I don’t think [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosemond[/name_f] goes particularly well, because none of your other choices seem as British as your two.
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] seems the best with the other names. I don’t care about the middles, but I dislike [name_f]Kate[/name_f] on it’s own. I think it’s a nickname.
good [name_m]Luck[/name_m]!
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Silas[/name_m] Emerick
[name_m]Jonah[/name_m] [name_m]Pascal[/name_m] (Since you like the meaning. [name_u]Jude[/name_u] flows better, but is very similar to [name_u]James[/name_u])
[name_f]Amalia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] (So beautiful! I think [name_f]Alina[/name_f] sounds nice, but not with [name_m]Jonah[/name_m]. Either [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] & [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] or [name_u]Jude[/name_u] & [name_f]Alina[/name_f])
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] ([name_f]Love[/name_f] this fit. I don’t love [name_f]Eve[/name_f] with your surname, but [name_f]Emma[/name_f] is too close to Emerick, for me)
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_u]Clare[/name_u]/[name_f]Claire[/name_f] (Classic and classy! I like both spellings, too)
