I’ve posted on here a few times with my favorite names and felt really good about the names I had chosen.
My husband FINALLY got me his list, and as expected, we don’t have any crossovers. I kind of knew his style from when we compared names while pregnant with our son, but we had at least agreed on [name]Jane[/name], which would have been his name had he been a girl. Now, with a [name]James[/name], [name]Jane[/name] is off the table.
My style/choices: I like shorter names generally (one or two syllables mostly), not many “old-lady” type names, and names that aren’t in the top 100 preferably:
[name]Tessa[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Greta[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] (I realize this one is more popular)
[name]Clara[/name]
Husband’s style/choices: Seems like he likes mostly classic, longer names, some of which are pretty popular or becoming pretty popular, others of which were popular among our generation and not so much now:
[name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Emily[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Valerie[/name]
[name]Veronica[/name]
[name]Vanessa[/name]
[name]Alexandra[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Jessica[/name]
Any suggestions for names that might suit both of us? We’re going to sit on each other’s lists for a week or so and then compare notes. I’m nervous he won’t like any of mine!
As for his names, I do like [name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Emily[/name] but feel they are just too common. I kind of like [name]Juliet[/name] and [name]Eloise[/name] (but worry about the nickname [name]Ellie[/name], which I don’t like, or Wheezy since she will probably have asthma… haha). I dislike [name]Amelia[/name] for the popularity and nicknames, [name]Charlotte[/name] (popularity) [name]Jessica[/name] (our generation), [name]Valerie[/name], [name]Alexandra[/name] (nicknames and popularity), and the others are just kind of too frilly for me: [name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Veronica[/name].
Thanks for the help!
