I stumbled across this forum when I was pregnant with my first, lingered, and never either registered or posted. I decided I wanted to be more organized with this one’s name, though, so I thought I’d ask you lovely Berries (is that a thing?) for a little advice.*A few things to keep in mind:
We have no interest in having any more after this. We both have careers that we adore, but alas, they’re not super stable, and we’d like what kids we do have to grow up in as financially secure an environment as possible. For these purposes, all this means is that there’s no need to worry about what will/won’t sound good with possible future siblings - in fact, I’m trying to take it as an opportunity to use as many of my favorite names as possible
The last name is hyphenated (3 syllables), but goes well with nearly everything, thank god.
And, of course, the older sister’s name is: [name_f]Briony[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]. She goes by [name_f]Bri[/name_f] for now, though god knows if that’ll last.
We’ve decided not to find out the baby’s gender in advance this time, but I’d love to narrow it down to a couple of names each by pretty soon

I would go for it if you love it; however, I’ve never heard of/seen Orphan [name_m]Black[/name_m] so of course I don’t have that same hesitation. I think it’s lovely - handsome, strong, but fun and quirky. Great with [name_f]Briony[/name_f] too!

[name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] - unfortunately this one has started crossing over to the girls’ side (I’m so annoyed!) I can’t stand it when people take perfectly good boys’ names and slap them on a girl.

[name_f]Miranda[/name_f] - this is so lovely with [name_f]Briony[/name_f]! It’s never been a favourite of mine (an acquaintance with the name has somewhat ruined it for me) but objectively it’s just gorgeous.
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] - looove [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]. [name_f]Briony[/name_f] and [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] have a lovely nature-y theme going on. Beautiful!
[name_f]Talullah[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Talullah[/name_f], but wonder if it’s just a bit too frilly. I think it’s gorgeous in the mn spot.

(Apparently my mother considered it for my brother before she knew he was a boy!) We have some friends that named their daughter Zenya and it has really grown on me. I thought I’d throw that out there if you like Zora.
