Suggestions, please :)

After stalking these boards for a couple weeks, I thought I’d pop in with a post and see if I could get some help. I’m due with baby #3 in early [name_f]May[/name_f] (don’t know gender) and we’re starting to get more serious about picking a couple names. Our kids names are [name_f]Bella[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and and [name_u]Easton[/name_u] [name_u]Grey[/name_u]. We’re not too worried about #3’s name fitting in, just as long as it doesn’t completely clash with their names. We seem to accidentally gravitate towards popular names (we were oblivious of Twilight when we named [name_f]Bella[/name_f], lol), so we’re trying to be a little different, but not too far out there this time. Our last name is 3 syllables and starts with a G. Here are the names on our list right now-

Girls:
[name_f]Paige[/name_f] (popular around here)
[name_f]Aubree[/name_f] (popular around here)
[name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilah[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]
[name_f]Heidi[/name_f]

We’re leaning towards [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] and [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] so I’d love to hear middle name suggestions for those. If there are other first names that you think we’d like, please list those, too! We also love the names [name_u]Bryn/name_u and [name_f]Brielle[/name_f], but [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] is getting really popular around here and [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] is too similar to [name_f]Bella[/name_f] for me (hubby thinks it works though).

Boys:
[name_m]Gage[/name_m]
[name_f]Dagan[/name_f]
[name_m]Nolan[/name_m]
Yep, we’re in a bit of a rut with boy names. We’ve always had trouble agreeing on what boy names we like. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for any help, I REALLY appreciate it!

Welcome to Nameberry, friend! And congratulations on your growing family

I might suggest the beautiful names Clarice or even Clarissa, which are very similar to and are undiscovered variants of Claire. I know that we all have different styles (I like yours a lot actually!), and not everyone finds these as charming as I do, yet I feel they are too classy to pass up. I’ve personally known 2 Paige’s with sisters named Jade and Tia, but seeing your list, I’m not sure that either of those would necessarily appeal to you. However, let’s combine two of your loves: Heidi Paige is incredibly fresh and adorable - especially with Bella Grace! From your list, I also think Aubree/Aubrey is a gorgeous name. You might also think about Elsa Maisie. Very cute.

I have no interest in Twilight and neither does a friend of mine who was having a boy a couple of years ago; however, your reference reminded me of her story. Apparently, someone had made the suggestion of Colin/Collin to her, but since the conversation was over the phone, she misheard and thought they said “Cullen” which she LOVED and named her son… just thought I’d suggest in case it also appealed to you  Another suggestion might be Tobias, which is another of my personal favorites. Tobias and Easton as brothers?? Oh, goodness, swoon!

I love [name_f]Heidi[/name_f]! I think it blends well with the siblings. I also like the “Gr__” middle name of both, so why not continue with your third? [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] [name_f]Greta[/name_f]? [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Greer[/name_f]? [name_f]Dagan[/name_f] [name_m]Graham[/name_m]?

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_u]Aubrey[/name_u] (spelt this way), [name_f]Elsa[/name_f], and [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] from your girls list.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] an idea, as both [name_f]Bella[/name_f] and [name_u]Easton[/name_u]'s middle names begin with ‘Gr’, have you considered another ‘Gr’ middle-name for the third?

[name_f]Greer[/name_f], [name_f]Greta[/name_f], [name_u]Grady[/name_u]?

Neither of your boys names appeal to me personally. [name_m]Gage[/name_m] is ok.

Maybe:

[name_f]Bella[/name_f], [name_u]Easton[/name_u] and…
[name_u]Finn[/name_u], [name_m]Connor[/name_m], [name_m]Milo[/name_m], [name_m]Gabe[/name_m], [name_u]Glenn[/name_u], [name_m]Warren[/name_m], [name_u]Corbin[/name_u], [name_u]Landry[/name_u], [name_m]Rhett[/name_m], [name_m]Reuben[/name_m]?

@kendyfurby - Didn’t see your post when I suggested a ‘Gr’ middle name!

iwillpraise- Thanks for the suggestions. I really like [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f]! I do like [name_f]Clarissa[/name_f], but it reminds me too much of [name_f]Clarissa[/name_f] Explains It All…I watched that too much as a kid, I guess :stuck_out_tongue: [name_f]Clara[/name_f] was something we’d considered, but hubby didn’t love it.

kendyfurby- That’s funny that you suggested [name_f]Dagan[/name_f] [name_m]Graham[/name_m] because I do actually have that written on my list  I plan on using [name_m]Graham[/name_m] as a middle name if it works, but it would be a problem with [name_m]Gage[/name_m] because our last name also starts with a G. It’s not a priority, but I do plan to make an attempt to have #3’s middle name fit with the other two’s, so thanks for the suggesting [name_f]Greta[/name_f]!

I’m seeing that nameberry turns ‘[name_f]Dagan[/name_f]’ pink and the pronunciation shows Dah-ghan instead of the way I say it (like dragon without the r) , so maybe the correct spelling for a boy would be Daegan. Not sure how I feel about that though.

freddiethepink- I’ve never really considered [name_m]Warren[/name_m] before, but I do like that! I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name [name_u]Corbin[/name_u], but my cousin has a son with that name so it’s out. Plus I believe there’s a country singer named [name_u]Easton[/name_u] [name_u]Corbin[/name_u]…that’s something that I usually wouldn’t have figured out until AFTER the baby was born and named, lol.
Thanks!

Congrats! I think [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] or [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] would be cute. [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] are very nice as well.

[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] is a bit similar to [name_f]Bella[/name_f] (both 2 syllables containing ‘el’ and ending with ‘a’), and [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] is [name_m]WAY[/name_m] too similar–don’t let your husband convince you!

[name_f]Paige[/name_f] is nice but I think you have nicer names, so why choose one that’s super popular where you live? Or maybe keep her on the middle name list. [name_f]Aubree[/name_f] is my least favorite. I really dislike this spelling, and I also love [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] so much that even [name_u]Aubrey[/name_u] kinda makes me cringe.

I like the idea of keeping with the 1 syllable middle, or another word name… or not:
[name_f]Lilah[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilah[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilah[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilah[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Heidi[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Heidi[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f]
[name_f]Heidi[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_f]Heidi[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilah[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
etc

[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Fleur[/name_f]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Renee[/name_f]/[name_u]Rae[/name_u]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_u]Brooke[/name_u]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Helen[/name_f]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]

[name_f]Heidi[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Heidi[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Heidi[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Heidi[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Heidi[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]
[name_f]Heidi[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Heidi[/name_f] [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]

Other Suggestions:
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f]
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]

As for boys…

[name_u]Corbin[/name_u]
[name_m]Dawson[/name_m]
[name_u]Keaton[/name_u]
[name_u]Keegan[/name_u]
[name_u]Rhys[/name_u]

From your girls’ list I love [name_f]Heidi[/name_f], [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] best (and, I think they go nicely with [name_f]Bella[/name_f] and [name_u]Easton[/name_u]). I also think that [name_m]Gage[/name_m] works well with your children’s names. However, maybe it would work better as a middle name? I noticed that your other children each have a 1 syllable G name in the middle. Also, I wouldn’t worry about [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] or [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] being too similar to [name_f]Bella[/name_f] - [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and [name_u]Grey[/name_u] are quite similar sounding, and I don’t think it matters. I only think it would matter if you wanted to use [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] as a FIRST name. In that case, I would agree with you about them being too similar.

Here are some other names you might like:
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Maggie[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Delilah[/name_f]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]
[name_u]Blair[/name_u]
[name_f]Maren[/name_f]
[name_f]Keira[/name_f]

[name_m]Rogan[/name_m]
[name_m]Garrett[/name_m]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u]
[name_u]Emmett[/name_u]
[name_u]Kieran[/name_u]
[name_u]Bryce[/name_u]
[name_m]Cole[/name_m]
[name_u]Flynn[/name_u]
[name_u]Blair[/name_u]
[name_m]Isaac[/name_m]

Good luck finding something you love! And congratulations!

I did see the trend of your G middle names, as kendyfurby and freddiethepink, noted. However, I was too in love with [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f]. lol.

[name_f]My[/name_f] [name_m]FAVORITE[/name_m] boys name of all time is [name_u]Corbin[/name_u], but hubby doesn’t like it at all. [name_m]Alas[/name_m], I must give it up. I don’t have any knowledge of [name_u]Easton[/name_u] [name_u]Corbin[/name_u] because I’m not into Country music (why use two names ending in the same sound??); but I don’t think I’d use [name_u]Corbin[/name_u] either if I already had a son named [name_u]Easton[/name_u] just because people would always reference the singer.

FYI: it’s interesting that the “name of the day” is [name_f]Clarity[/name_f], which may be another you’d consider…?

I love the name [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], plus it would go really nicely with [name_f]Bella[/name_f] and [name_u]Easton[/name_u]. I also like [name_f]McKayla[/name_f] or [name_f]Kinley[/name_f]. For the boys I think that [name_m]Callen[/name_m] or [name_u]Flynn[/name_u]. I agree with everyone else that the middle name should start with G, to keep up with the trend. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helped! and good luck!

Thanks for suggestions everyone!

We actually did have [name_u]Emmett[/name_u], [name_u]Everett[/name_u] and [name_m]Cole[/name_m] on our list when I was pregnant with our daughter, I’ll have to see if DH feels about them now. I’m still liking [name_u]Everett[/name_u].

I think that to go with siblings [name_u]Easton[/name_u] and [name_f]Bella[/name_f] I like [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] the best. Good luck in picking the right name.

[name_f]My[/name_f] husband keeps bringing up the name [name_m]Nolan[/name_m], so I’m adding that to my boy list. I do really like the name, I just feel like I just haven’t found the right boy name yet.

BOY: [name_m]Declyn[/name_m] [name_m]Gage[/name_m], [name_m]Archer[/name_m] Grimm, [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] GIRL: [name_f]Brynna[/name_f] [name_f]Gail[/name_f]; [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] [name_f]Gwen[/name_f], [name_f]Honora[/name_f] Greece Just new ideas… I really like Everett and Maisie too! Good luck! You’ll find it!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! There’s a few boy names I’ll have to run by DH to see if we can add a couple to our boy list.

Question: Is [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] okay for a grown adult? I loooove it on a little girl, but I’m worried it’s not formal enough for an adult. I don’t care for any of the long names that it could be a nickname for. Then again, I guess [name_f]Bella[/name_f] is more of a cutesy name, too, so maybe it’s nothing to worry about.

@freddiethepink - That’s ok, we have the same taste! haha

Thanks for the help everyone! We ended up with a [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m] [name_m]Graham[/name_m]
