suggestions to feminize a name

Ill admit this is a stretch! We are expecting twin girls which bringsour total to 3 girls, 0 boys and these willprobablybe our last.

We are big in usingmiddlenames togivehonorandI would really like to somehow use my fathers name…which is also the samename as hubbys closestgrandfather…butits not an easy one.

The name is [name]Clifford[/name]…any ideas, variations, sounds that could link back to this name?

Thankyou!

[name]Rachel[/name]

I would advise you to use [name]Clifford[/name] in the middle spot for one twin and maybe use another family name for the other girl. I don’t think there is any way to “feminize” this name.

[name]Clia[/name]/[name]Clea[/name] and [name]Farrah[/name]? They sound similar. [name]Clifford[/name] means “dweller of a cliff by a ford”, so maybe look for names that mean water or cliff?

There are no feminine versions of the name clifford… But perhaps making a name from the name clifford?? I man i can come up with [name]Clio[/name] from the name… Sorry im not much of a help xx

What about the name [name]Ford[/name]?

Made from the letters of [name]Clifford[/name]:
[name]Dori[/name] (dor-ee)
[name]Lior[/name] (lee-or)

Feminine and Similar:
[name]Flora[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]

That’s the best I can do. Good luck!

Wow, I am stumped. I would use [name]Cliff[/name] for one and [name]Ford[/name] for the other, or [name]Clifford[/name] for just one and something else for the other.

This I think is closest your going to get, you can also get these names from rearranging the letters…

[name]Clio[/name]
[name]Flo[/name]
[name]Rio[/name]
[name]Lori[/name]
[name]Flori[/name]
[name]Cori[/name]

Too luck!

I like [name]Mischa[/name]'s suggestion of putting it in the middle and using another family name for the other twin’s middle. Many girls are given very masculine middles to honor family members (I know girls with the middle name [name]Warren[/name], [name]Calvin[/name] and others that can’t be easily feminized).

I always found that picking random letters from names, to make a different name i.e. [name]Clio[/name] from [name]Clifford[/name], loses the point of trying to use the name to honor someone.
