Suggestions?

[name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I are expecting a little one in [name_u]November[/name_u]. Our last u/s made us 99% positive that we are having a little girl. We have two names picked out right now that we really like, but we are looking around a bit more before we decide. What are your thoughts on these names (listed below) and do you have any other suggestions that are similar?

[name_f]Katherine[/name_f] [name_f]McKenna[/name_f] (DH’s mother’s name is [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f] and my maiden name is McKinney)
[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] ([name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f])

[name_f]My[/name_f] mother’s and grandmother’s middle name is [name_f]Mae[/name_f] so that (or a variant) could be a possibility).

[name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] was my #1 pick, but DH vetoed because of some negative connotations from high school so [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] might be a choice as well.

Our last name is [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] if that helps

[name_f]Katherine[/name_f] is a nice way to honor a [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f], but I think if you want to give your daughter your maiden name as a middle name, it should probably stay in its original form. Otherwise there’s not much point, in my opinion. [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] McKinney is nice, for the purposes of passing on your maiden name.

I prefer [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] to [name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] would be really cute as a double first name. [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] with [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] in the middle is adorable.

[name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] gets my vote.

Here are my favorite combos…

[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]McKenna[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
Maebry [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]

Good luck!

I love both. If you want to honor [name_f]Mae[/name_f] try Amélie pronounced a-[name_f]MAY[/name_f]-lee
