Suitable Names for These Characters

I have an idea for a story that’s set in an all-girls’ Catholic boarding school. The plot will center on four, apparently mismatched friends, who have to solve the mystery of why their classmates are acting strangely and disappearing. Some don’t come back, but those who return have their personalities changed for the worse. They come back tired and ill, with no memories of what they did in their absence. When girls from other classes start disappearing, too, the four friends try to rise into action…which isn’t easy, given the time constraints and clashes in personality.

[name_m]Friend[/name_m] #1 is quiet and introverted. She’s intelligent, but lazy and absentminded, with little sense of time or fashion. She can find a grammar error on page 29 of the student handbook, but somehow forget to follow the rules on the page or that she accidentally wore mismatched socks again. She’s independent and calm even during a crisis, and can be sweet in a childish sort of way. But she’s self-absorbed, sometimes insensitive, and takes forever to make decisions. When she speaks, she sounds unsure of herself…unless she’s sassing someone during an argument. If she could somehow get off her ass and work, she could actually achieve a lot. I thought of naming her [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] [name_f]Sharon[/name_f], nn [name_u]Julie[/name_u], but somehow it doesn’t fit.

[name_m]Friend[/name_m] #2 is the one who’s genuinely sweet and helpful. A natural optimist, she believes that people are basically good, and as a result is very trusting and patient, unlike [name_m]Friend[/name_m] #1 who’s more cynical. She volunteers for everything, but finds it difficult to finish what she starts, and has the hardest time saying no to people. The flip side to her kindness would be her passive-aggression; she just shuts down and refuses to talk to the person directly. She’s active in her church and the vice-president of their religious club…and a closet lesbian, who tries and fails to “pray the gay away.” Like #1, I’m stuck on a name for her. Something Biblical or a saint’s name perhaps; best if it’s old-ladyish and has a shorter nickname option.

[name_m]Friend[/name_m] #3 used to be a part of the popular clique, but then she had a row with them and squeezed herself into this group. They didn’t get along well at first, but now they’ve sort of grown on each other. She’s self-conscious, clingy, easily jealous, and too obsessed with people’s looks. She follows rules because she gets rewarded for them, but willingly bends them if she has to protect her friends. To her credit, she has stronger practical skills than the other two, and is thoughtful and eager to help. She sees herself as the only sane woman in the group. She routinely bosses the others around, but when someone else does it, she’s the first to defend them. I’d like a long, frilly name for her; what do you think of [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], nn [name_f]Anya[/name_f]?

[name_m]Friend[/name_m] #4 might have autism or OCD, but most other students don’t know this and say, “Oh, she’s weird.” She fusses endlessly about putting things in their proper places and cannot concentrate when the environment’s “too loud”. She speaks in a flat voice, rarely smiles, and takes jokes and sarcasm literally, making it hard to have a conversation with her. She seems colder and more insensitive than [name_m]Friend[/name_m] #1, but she does care. It’s just that she isn’t sure how to show it best, without coming on too strong. She thinks she relies on solid facts…but insists that the Illuminati and aliens exist.

Suggestions would be welcome.
