Sunny?

Opinions on the name [name_u]Sunny[/name_u], or names [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] could be a nickname for? I thought it sounded kind of cute, but am worried about it sounding tacky.

Oh [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] is so lovely, what a great name! I honestly feel like if other “cutesy” names like [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] and [name_f]Posy[/name_f] can work on a person, so can [name_u]Sunny[/name_u]. Still, of you’d like a longer form, here are some ideas:

[name_f]Soleil[/name_f]
[name_f]Solana[/name_f]
[name_f]Aeliana[/name_f] / [name_f]Aelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Helia[/name_f]
[name_f]Solara[/name_f]
[name_f]Apollonia[/name_f] / [name_f]Apolline[/name_f] (Apollo was the god of sun)
[name_f]Idalia[/name_f] (“behold the sun”)
[name_f]Sunniva[/name_f] (“sun gift”)

I love the name [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] so much! I personally like it for a boy better though.I actually don’t find it very nicknamey or childish.

[name_u]Sunny[/name_u] is such a sweet name! I definitely think it can work as a full first name. Also, maybe, as a general nickname sort of like [name_u]Sonny[/name_u] for a boy.

I could see it as a nickname for…
Any name ending in -son (Addison, [name_u]Allison[/name_u], [name_u]Madison[/name_u], etc.)
[name_f]Sonia[/name_f] / [name_f]Sonya[/name_f]
Sunilda
[name_f]Assunta[/name_f]
[name_f]Sunday[/name_f]
[name_f]Sunniva[/name_f]
Aysun - a Turkish name meaning “as beautiful as the moon” so I like the contrast of the nickname [name_u]Sunny[/name_u]
[name_f]Ursuline[/name_f]

I knew a [name_f]Sunshine[/name_f] nn [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] and it suited her well

[name_f]Summer[/name_f] and [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] could have the nickname [name_u]Sunny[/name_u]

[name_f]Susan[/name_f] is another option too

I know of a little [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] who’s about 6 or so. She is the brightest little thing! I think it’s precious for a little girl, not sure it ages well and will work for everybody though. :sun_with_face:

I prefer sunny as a nn over a given name!

[name_f]Sunisa[/name_f] or [name_f]Sunniva[/name_f] would be my pick :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

[name_f]Sunday[/name_f] is one of my favorite names! [name_f]My[/name_f] husband wouldn’t go for it, but I would 100% name my child [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f]

[name_u]Sunny[/name_u] is such a cute name for a girl. It could be short for [name_f]Sunday[/name_f]! I always think of series of unfortunate events!

[name_u]Or[/name_u] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] (Dawn)
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] (golden one)

If you had twins you’d do have to name then [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] and Luna!! Swoon!
