Super Feminine to pair with Unisex

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone,

Team [name_u]Green[/name_u]. Due in [name_u]July[/name_u]. I had my names picked out. Then life got in the way and threw a curve ball at me. My 23-yr-old brother was killed in [name_f]February[/name_f] and now I can’t think of a more perfect way to honor him than this. Girl or boy, the first name will be [name_u]Cody[/name_u].

My issue is with the middle name. If it’s a girl, I want something SUPER girly. Originally, the first name was going to be [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f], and as much as I think [name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is awesome, I want to hold onto it for a first since we’re planning on more children. My family keeps pushing for [name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] (GAG ME NOW) It sounds like a country singer, right? YUCK. Me and DH are so not that type. Please help me come up with something girly, whimsical, unique and I’m okay with it being somewhat over the top. Some that I’ve considered are:

[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Aria[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Estella[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Adelina[/name_f]

Last name is one syllable and starts with S.

I’m really sorry for you loss, it’s very sweet that you want to honour him.

(I hope I’m not stepping on any toes here as I love what you want to do; have you thought about [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] nn [name_u]Cody[/name_u] as a way to honor him, something that is her own yet always a reminder of your brother.)

I’m so sorry for your loss. Based on [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] and [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] (which I love)

[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]

So sorry to hear about the loss of your brother.
I understand what you mean about [name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u]. I think a one syllable name, like [name_u]Lynn[/name_u], sounds really good after [name_u]Cody[/name_u] though! What about:

[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Ann[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] ([name_f]May[/name_f]?)
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] (two syllables but still short and feminine!)
Cody Elise

[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Leona[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Elaina[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Adele[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]

[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Priscilla[/name_f]

[name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the suggestion of [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] nn. [name_u]Cody[/name_u]. If you’d rather not, I would use a longer middle to offset the one-syllable last name.

[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Arabella[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Octavia[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Linnea[/name_f] (instead of [name_u]Lynn[/name_u]?)

My deepest condolences about your brother. I think honouring him this way is beautiful and your child will have such a special name with so much meaning.

[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Lenore[/name_f]

I also like the suggestion of [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] “[name_u]Cody[/name_u]”. Seems like [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] would fit in more with your style (ie: [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] & [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] sound amazing as sisters) as well as giving her an identity of her own. That said, I understand how much meaning [name_u]Cody[/name_u] has and why you would prefer it as a given name.

[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Annelise[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Juliana[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Florence[/name_f]

Best of luck to you and your family.

Wow, you all came up with some really lovely suggestions. Thank you! I’m freaking out because I only have 10 weeks left and I need to come up with something, and these really help

I’m sorry for your loss. [name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] is gorgeous and my favorite out of your list.

[name_u]Cody[/name_u] [name_f]Veronica[/name_f]

Sorry for the loss of your brother.

I agree that [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] nn [name_u]Cody[/name_u] would be a fantastic option for a girl if you’re open to it: You could honour your brother while giving your child their own unique name. My mother-in-law was named after a deceased relative and that didn’t sit well with her as an adult. She decided to go by her middle name instead.

As for middle name options, [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] are a couple more that seem to suit your style. Good luck!
