I am completely stuck on my list of girl names and need some inspiration. This is my second baby, the first is a sweet 18 month old boy named [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. I was pretty convinced another little dude was on the way, but to my surprise we have a dudETTE on our hands!
I love classic, relatively uncommon names. Feminine, sweet, and strong. Something to compelement [name_u]Jude[/name_u]'s name. My husband and I also would really like one that people won’t have issues pronouncing either. Here are some of my favorites so far:
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] - always loved this name, still do
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] - new to the list, but definitely digging it
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] - beautiful, but taken by a friend’s daughter
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] - also taken by a friend’s daughter
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] - strong and feminine
As you can see the list is sadly short - please give me some recommendations! Any help is appreciated:)
I have a [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] so that gets my vote! However, we call my [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] “[name_u]Lou[/name_u]” a lot (it kind of just naturally happened, we weren’t planning on it!), and [name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_u]Lou[/name_u] have a similar sound, so it may trip you up a bit. [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] also gets a vote from me; Something about [name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] sound so perfect together!
I think [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] is fabulous. [name_f]Gemma[/name_f], [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] ([name_f]Tess[/name_f]), [name_f]Cosima[/name_f] are some others I really like that seem similar.
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] and [name_u]Jude[/name_u] sound perfect together.
I also love love [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]. Actually, it’s my daughter’s middle name and sometimes I wish it was her first Our hesitation, however, was people pronouncing it [name_u]Lou[/name_u]-eeza instead of our preferred [name_u]Lou[/name_u]-ee-sa. But the nickname [name_u]Lou[/name_u] is so adorable! [name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_u]Lou[/name_u] – I love it.
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] is a lovely name, and I like the names you’ve thought of so far for a girl. With [name_u]Jude[/name_u] I think [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] or [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] would be my choice. [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] probably is the favorite of those two. Objectively my favorite name is [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]! But I don’t know that I like it with [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. It’d make a fabulous middle name though. It goes with any of the other names you mentioned, e.g [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], etc.
