Trying to come up with a middle name for [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] that combines elements of both grandmothers names. What do you think of Susalee/Susalie? How does [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] Susalee sound?
Lots of s sounds!
I feel the end of [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] merges into Susalee as well. I don’t hate the sounds of Susalee though, independent of the first name.
Yeah I see what you mean. This middle name is driving me nuts!
Hmm I don’t think they merge too badly but I agree quite a lot of s sounds! I prefer the look of Susalie personally
[name_m]Just[/name_m] thought of [name_f]Sula[/name_f], to cut one s out? [name_u]Or[/name_u] maybe that wouldn’t have enough letters to honour both grandmas?
They are [name_f]Susan[/name_f] and [name_f]Sally[/name_f] so Im not sure that works. Well, it works as well as any S name.
I think Susalee or Susalie works well as a honor name. [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] Susalee Sounds fun. If you’re open to suggestions, what about Lysanne?
what about something like sullie / suelie / sulie ? i’m not sure how to make the spelling haha
[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] Susalie is pretty cute! I quite like it!
What about [name_u]Sully[/name_u]?
I think [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_u]Sully[/name_u] would be lovely, and is a good blend of the two names. I think Susalie/Susalee looks a little odd, and it does run with [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] a bit, but if it’s the name you love it’s not the end of the world at all.
This might be a bit of a left-field suggestion, but what about [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f]? [name_f]Susan[/name_f] means lily, and lily sounds a lot like [name_f]Sally[/name_f] to me, so maybe it would work as a double honor? Not sure, just food for thought and possibly another way to approach getting a double honor name for the middle if you’re not loving anything else you’ve found yet.
Good luck with finding something you love!
I’d be inclined to do something like [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f], but I understand if you don’t want two middles. [name_u]Sully[/name_u] is a nice suggestion.
Susalee/Susalie (I think I prefer Susalie) is sweet, especially as a middle name! I think [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] Susalee does have a lot of s sounds and doesn’t have idea flow, but I don’t think the flow of a first and middle name is all that important. If it’s a meaningful honor name, there’s no reason that a slightly awkward flow for a first and middle (that likely won’t be called together all that often) should stop you!
As a side note, I think Susie-Lee or Sally-Sue would be cute for a more double-barrelled approach.
Thanks everyone! I don’t really like [name_u]Sully[/name_u] though it is a nice way to combine the two names. All I can think of is [name_u]Sully[/name_u] from Monsters Inc and it seems totally masculine to me. I will keep Susalie in the running for now and see if the sound grows on me.
maybe the grandma’s middle names mesh better?
[name_m]Just[/name_m] found out from my mom that apparently there was someone in my distant family named Susalie so that makes me feel a lot better about it for some reason.
@Victory55 Good idea but feels too indirect to be meaningful to me.
Ok, I would go with [name_f]Suzy[/name_f] then, not a perfect mashup but so sweet and just right, i think.
Would you consider Susalie as a first name? I really like the sound of the name Susalie [name_f]Belle[/name_f]. That way you would still have your honors, part of the name [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], and plus, the cute nickname option [name_f]Suzy[/name_f]
I would maybe except I feel attached to [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] Also it’s related to part of my name (Elizabeth). I think [name_f]Issie[/name_f] is super cute too. [name_f]Belle[/name_f] is nice too though.
I like it! I would spell it Susalee. I do think it sounds kind of off with [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] because there are so many repeating sounds.
