I have 2 names in mind for a future daughter and I would appreciate any feedback or additional suggestions on these names. DH and I thankfully like similar names so he usually just goes with that I think will work best…Right now I love [name]Celeste[/name] [name]Rosalind[/name] and [name]Susannah[/name] [name]Maeve[/name]. Last name is a 1 syllable nature name. We have 2 girls whose names are [name]Roxanne[/name] [name]Coraline[/name] and [name]Vera[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name]. I was initially thinking that I wanted the same 2-3-1 pattern but realized that it just wouldn’t matter when they get older and aren’t always around their siblings. We have had a boys name picked for years so that isn’t a problem…it is always the girls names that are the most challenging.
What do you think? [name]Do[/name] they both work? Is one better than the other??
[name]Both[/name] are great names. I have a soft spot for [name]Susannah[/name] though… Before I met my fiancé it was “my” name fora future daughter, unfortunately he has an Aunt and cousin named [name]Susan[/name] and [name]Suzanne[/name] who are not good people so it is no longer usable for me sadly. but anyway, I love the classic elegance of [name]Susannah[/name] but [name]Celeste[/name] is a lovely, underused name as well. My only fear of [name]Celeste[/name] with a “nature” last name is that it might sound a little too wordy or hippyish.
I love both names but since you already have a [name]Roxanne[/name] I wouldn’t choose [name]Susannah[/name] (too similar). I think [name]Celeste[/name] would be wonderful with older sisters named [name]Roxanne[/name] and [name]Vera[/name]. It’s has a soft and delicate sound but it doesn’t feel weak. I love the ethereal quality to it. Only name nerds would know that [name]Celeste[/name] means “heavenly” so I wouldn’t worry about it being too wordy with your nature surname.
I love both names, but I think [name]Celeste[/name] works best with [name]Roxanne[/name] and [name]Vera[/name]. My only issue with your combo is that [name]Celeste[/name]'s initials would be [name]Roxanne[/name]'s initials inverted. That is a minor thing, though, that probably wouldn’t bother the majority.
I have noticed the initials thing but I figured it wouldn’t be too big of a deal. Middle initials are so rarely used. Plus I haven’t found a middle name for [name]Celeste[/name] that I love as much as [name]Rosalind[/name]. But I’m open to suggestions if anyone has any.
I think [name]Celeste[/name] is beautiful and unique, just like your other daughters’ names. [name]Roxanne[/name], [name]Vera[/name] and [name]Celeste[/name] - gorgeous!
PS. [name]Vera[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name] is simply lovely. This is a combination I’ve had on my own list for years!
I think we are both leaning towards [name]Celeste[/name] at this point. And my husband actually picked [name]Adelaide[/name]…I have received quite a few compliments on it. We definitely love it. Thanks for the positive feedback!
And I have to say that I love the girls names in your list, we had considered quite a few of those…Good taste!
