I love the name [name]Susannah[/name] but one of my favorite movies is Legends Of The Fall and the girl named [name]Susannah[/name] always annoyed me and she kills herself towards the end. I know it sounds silly but I used to watch this movie everyday and so did a lot of my family. Should I just rule out [name]Susannah[/name]?
I really like [name]Susannah[/name], too, but I can see how an association like that could ruin it for you. Still, I think if you choose it for your child, she’ll become your first association with the name.
If you really don’t think you can use it, you could try a variation, like [name]Susanna[/name] or [name]Isannah[/name], or you could use [name]Lily[/name] (the meaning of [name]Susannah[/name].)
[name]Susannah[/name] has too much history to be limited to that one association. Gorgeous name!
You don’t think she will dislike it when she watches the movie?
I have only the vaguest recollection of that movie, but if it means that much to you, you could choose to consider it in terms of giving the character new life through your daughter, thereby negating the suicide.
I dont think one negative association should ruin it for you. I mean, I’m sure if you looked hard enough you’ll find every name has something negative about it. [name]Every[/name] name has probably used for a bitchy or annoying character in a movie/book.
Yeah I usually think that most names have something negative. If it wasn’t one of my favorite movies I wouldn’t care.
That movie flopped so don’t worry about many people actually associating [name]Susannah[/name] with that movie. I love the name. There is an opera, [name]Susannah[/name], that I think of when I hear the name, not the movie.
I wouldn’t rule out [name]Susannah[/name] for that reason. If it’s a name you love, go with. There is always [name]Savannah[/name] which is very similar.
