What are your thoughts on the name [name_u]Sutton[/name_u]?
I quite like it as it feels like a nice blend between the sweet country side of my style and the sleek and stylish side of my style, but I wonder if it’s a bit too awkward sounding?
I said this in a similar post but I love the fact it rhymes with button! I think it’s adorable! I personally wouldn’t use it, but it’s a cute name and makes for a versatile middle, I don’t see country in it if I’m being honest but more along the same energy as [name_u]Sinclair[/name_u](e) and [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
Personally, I don’t really like it but I think that might be an accent thing because the ‘t’s are very harsh in my accent. It would probably sound much better in a US or Canadian accent. It reminds me of [name_u]Sutton[/name_u] [name_m]Foster[/name_m] and she’s great :))
I think for me the country vibe is from the fact it’s a surname as a first? A bit like [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u], [name_u]Rylee[/name_u], [name_u]Emerson[/name_u], etc!
I love it! It doesn’t really fit will the other names on my list at all but I just have a soft spot for it, I think it sounds very classy like [name_u]Sloane[/name_u]. Thank you @princesspanda for pointing out that it rhymes with button! I can’t believe I never noticed that before, now it feels even sweeter.
I think it’s cause I was introduced to it as a more posh last name! It gives me Victorian last name but I can see why it can also be country stronger association over another I think
I like [name_u]Sutton[/name_u]! It’s as familiar and accessible as the rest of -ton ending names ([name_u]Peyton[/name_u], [name_u]Paxton[/name_u], [name_u]Leighton[/name_u] etc.). but isn’t as overused and feels like less trendy (this could be a regional thing in the USA, I don’t personally know a [name_u]Sutton[/name_u] of any age). It reminds me of [name_u]Blair[/name_u]/Blaire and [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] in that it feels upscale, sleek and feminine.
It’s not for me, makes me think of sudden and button, however, it does remind me of names such as [name_u]Blair[/name_u] and [name_u]Fallon[/name_u], which give me a “rich girl from NYC” vibe, thanks to the characters I associate them with, which actually makes me like the name more. It sounds modern and sharp but still feels like it’s been around for a while.
