Svea too unique?

[name_f]Svea[/name_f] (pronounced Svaya) is a guilty pleasure name for me! Also open to it being spelling Svaya the way it would be pronounced. I really like it but worried its way too uncommon and would be mispronounced all the time. [name_u]Love[/name_u] that its Scandinavian. I also like Vaya and [name_f]Anya[/name_f]. Thoughts?

I know a [name_f]Svea[/name_f]. Not sure if it gets mispronounced (I’m sure it does, all names do, but especially uncommon ones), but it’s a pretty intuitive pronunciation to me. I think it’s 100% usable!

[name_f]Svea[/name_f] is lovely! You might get svee-ah sometimes, but it’s easy to correct. Its a unique name, but simple to spell and it only really has two pronunciations. Plus it’s so spunky and beautiful!
[name_f]Anya[/name_f] is also stunning. Vaya is harder than [name_f]Svea[/name_f] to pronounce in my opinion, though I do like it.

Super pretty name. :star_struck:

It’s lovely, looks very similar to popular [name_f]Thea[/name_f], so be prepared for svee-yah. Nevertheless, it’s gorg and quite unique, definitely has that Scandi vibe we are all crazy for!
xx

Svea has such a lovely sound. I think people would get used to it as it’s quite easy to learn

I think it’s a great name. People may take some time to learn how to say it (some will definitely be quicker than others), but I think you should certainly consider using it.

I would intuitively pronounce it the way you want. I think it is pretty.

I love [name_f]Svea[/name_f]! I have Savea on my list because I think it clarifies the pronunciation a bit but I don’t think [name_f]Svea[/name_f] is too unique.

I think it’s pretty and definitely usable. I instinctively pronounced it correctly but I know there might be some issues with pronunciation. [name_f]Anya[/name_f] is a great alternative as it’s more well known so is more likely to be pronounced correctly, but I do really like [name_f]Svea[/name_f] - makes me think of [name_f]Freja[/name_f]/Freya which is also gorgeous!

I got the pronunciation right but I have a [name_f]Clea[/name_f] with a similar sound and she is always called clee-uh. I think [name_f]Svea[/name_f] is lovely though.

I played in a softball league with a [name_f]Svea[/name_f] in the early 2010s.

Svea is an adorable name! I know a [name_f]Svea[/name_f], she likes her name and it doesn’t get mispronounced, although I do see the risk.

It might occasionally get pronounced “svee-a” but if that doesn’t bother you it’s an easy correction  Not hard to pronounce or spell.

I like it- it’s definitely different. If you’re open to the more intuitive spelling- I’d go with that to minimize pronunciation issues.
