I need your help with opinions on these middle names. I would like to be as in love with the middle names as the first names, to the point that we would be happy using either the first name or the middle name. This would give a child so many different options; between full-name, nicknames, and the middle name. We also want middle names to honor family or have special meaning to the family. We want the middle name to be fun and unexpected.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] - The big issue with this combo is that our surname is also two syllables. I think the softness of [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f] helps to make the flow sound nicer but not a perfect flow.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] - [name_u]Winter[/name_u] has the same issue as [name_f]Willow[/name_f]. The flow is a little less perfect with this combo but we love [name_u]Winter[/name_u].
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Maple[/name_f] - Again [name_f]Maple[/name_f] has the same issues as the other two. This combo has about the same flow as [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u].
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] is my favorite-- it has a lovely crystalline sound to it.
I tried saying it in my head with different two syllable last names, and I think the flow is fine. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if the flow were off (which I don’t think it is,) family meaning and your love for the name trumps that.
I like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Maple[/name_f] best. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] seems like it must be extremely common.
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_m]Birch[/name_m] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Fleur[/name_f] for other one syllable nature options?
I like the quirkiness of [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Maple[/name_f]. It seems offbeat, but in a cool way. I don’t think there this an issue with last name.
For instance [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_m]Johnson[/name_m] (first two syllable last name I can think of, I have no idea what your actual last name is). Doesn’t sound any better or have a better flow then [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_m]Johnson[/name_m] or [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Maple[/name_f] [name_m]Johnson[/name_m].
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Bay[/name_u] sounds a bit like an actual location of an map. And in fact it is!
Emsky, I really like the suggestions of [name_m]Birch[/name_m] and [name_f]Fleur[/name_f], especially [name_m]Birch[/name_m]. [name_m]Birch[/name_m] is very special to me, it is one of my dad’s favorite trees. He planted one at the house I grew-up in. It grew sickly and he tried nursing it back to health but nothing worked and he had to have someone come and cut it down. I have [name_m]Birch[/name_m] as a middle name for [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] are tied for the next name I would love to use for a boy.
Blackcatsmeow, too funny. I was going to question if it sounded too much like a place name. Well I guess it does.
