I love sweet, classic, old fashioned girl names (best if they don’t have overused nicknames).
For example, [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] (my daughter) or [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] (can’t use, my friend did)
Lots of these names have been coming back, but most have become trendy. What are some familiar but not overused names without super cliche nicknames (like [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] is adorable, [name_f]Addie[/name_f] is overused)
Finding a vintage pick that isn’t already super popular, or well on it’s way to being, is quite a challenge now that they are fashionable with young parents. If you’re in the US, it’s slightly easier as there’s a few vintage names that haven’t caught on yet stateside e.g. [name_f]Florence[/name_f] and [name_f]Imogen[/name_f].
I’m in the UK so it’s a bit more of a challenge, but there’s a couple that are ‘undiscovered’ so to speak.
[name_f]Flora[/name_f] (#305 in 2015)
[name_f]Lula[/name_f] (#965 in 2015)
I love [name_f]Adaline[/name_f]/[name_f]Adeline[/name_f], but I wouldn’t use them because of the nickname [name_f]Addie[/name_f] as well. That, and they are climbing the charts at the moment thanks to a couple of recent movie characters.
[name_f]Florence[/name_f] is already coming back, especially in [name_f]England[/name_f], but the nickname Floe (with the e) isn’t used very often.
I love it!!
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] is beautiful. If you loved it enough, you could always use it and push [name_u]Del[/name_u] or [name_f]Della[/name_f] as the nickname.
