let me tell you a bit about my love affair with lula. years ago, when my ex and i first met, we had decided on the name lula rose for our future daughter. as time passed, we fell for other names, but lula has always had a special place in my heart. i realized that lula is an absolutely perfect fit for my style now, on her own or as a nickname for luella. i mean, couldn’t you picture sisters magnolia and lula, sipping sweet tea after running through the garden?
anyway, i was hoping you all could give me some inspiration for my sweet lula, by answering a few questions…
what middle names for lula come to mind? i’d love to use her as double barrel combination, but lula rose feels a tad overdone. i’ve thought of lula elsie and lula dorothy as well, to give you an idea of my style.
what would you name siblings for lula? personally, i feel that shorter, vintage names work, like cal and opal, but she also has a southern sweet edge that i could see pairing with something modern like rhett or paisley.
if you had to give lula a middle name and a sibling, based on your own style, what would that sibling set look like?

I feel they match it for spunk but also twee vintage appeal.

you gave me so many lovely suggestions here, but i think my absolute favorites are lula-iris, lula clementine, and lula-blythe. something about that long “i” sound is just perfect with lula, to me! ruthie and franklin feel so perfect with a sister named lula, too- and i’ve always had a soft spot for ada!
