Thanks @katinka! I love [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Anneli[/name_f] (very Scandinavian and stylish), [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Eleni[/name_f], [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Ottoline[/name_f] (and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] for that matter), [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Annika[/name_f] (also super scandi!), and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Annora[/name_f].
I love G’s ([name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Agnes[/name_f], [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Garnet[/name_f]?) but unfortunately [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] has enough ‘g’ for one girl!
I don’t think anyone has mentioned it yet, but @luneth’s suggestion [name_f]Alessia[/name_f] made me remember the name [name_f]Elysia[/name_f] which I looooove. [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Elysia[/name_f] looks and sounds pretty wonderful, don’t you think?
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is probably my overall favourite name. While I will agree that the English pronunciation doesn’t do the name justice (both the Danish and the Swedish pronunciations are riveting and much softer than the English one), I don’t think’s that hard. I think I’ve mentioned it on here before but when I hear the name [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f], I think of a Scandinavian Éowyn. A warrior queen surrounded by snow. It’s a very forceful name yet it’s also elegant and feminine.
Some suggestions (sorry for any repeats, I haven’t read the thread through):
