I’m loving [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] right now, but have been suggested [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] as a first name as well. I like both names and would like berries’ help to figure out which one is better.
My personal preference is [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]. I just think it’s cuter, younger sounding, and more chic.
I love [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], it’s one of my favorites. I don’t like [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] nearly as much.
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]! [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] is pretty and has the cool Plath association, but like emsky said, [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] is cute and chic. 
I love both, and have them both on my list. But I do prefer the feisty, sassy vibe of [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]. More stylish and cool. For the record I love [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f]'s sophisticated, elegant feel, and though I’m not the biggest fan of using nns, [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]'s always there as an option.
I love both names!! To be honest, if I was in your situation I would use [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] as a given name, because you can always have [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] as a very logical nickname, but your daughter would have the option of using [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] if she preferred.
Both are nice, but I personally like [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] better.
I love [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], its one of my favourite names. [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f], for some reason, has never held the same spark for me.
I prefer [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] because i am not into nicknaming.
Also love both but [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] is pretty amazing! I hope you choose it!
I like [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] better than [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f]. It has fresher quality to it that [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] doesn’t have.
