Talk me in or out of Ziva

Hi! What do you think about [name_f]Ziva[/name_f]? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like it soundwise?
I’ve first heard this name on NCIS and loved it ever since (esp because it’s tied to such a strong character). Any other names that give you an “independent, stands up for herself, badass” vibe?

TIA

I really like the sound of [name_f]Ziva[/name_f]. It’s like [name_f]Zara[/name_f] and [name_f]Eva[/name_f], but more unusual and intriguing.

However, in another thread somebody pointed out that it has a bad meaning in Hebrew, which is a bit of a downer.

To me [name_f]Reeva[/name_f]/Riva and [name_f]Zella[/name_f] and seem quite similar so I would suggest them.

I like it! It’s different, but not out-there.
Others that, while not altogether similar, give me a similar vibe:
Tiva
Ismae
[name_f]Morrigan[/name_f]
[name_u]Crimson[/name_u]
[name_f]Circe[/name_f]
[name_f]Galilee[/name_f]
[name_f]Enid[/name_f]
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f]
[name_u]Sloane[/name_u]
Annith

Ziva is pretty funky

Rhoda, [name_f]Freda[/name_f], [name_f]Zilla[/name_f] and [name_f]Keziah[/name_f] remind me of [name_f]Ziva[/name_f]

Gorgeous name!

I absolutely adore [name_f]Ziva[/name_f]! It’s fun, spunky, and sparky!

I have decided it’s a GP though because it’s the Israeli Hebrew word for gonorrhea :sob:

Oh noo, is this well-known/instantly connected? (About gonorrhea)

I’m not Israeli so this is what I’ve heard from research and from a poster on this site. The word is spelled differently in Hebrew but pronounced exactly the same. The poster said that he mentioned the name to his cousins who live in [name_u]Israel[/name_u] and they thought it was weird and kinda funny.

However, the name is still used in that part of the world so perhaps there is more nuance!
