Talk me Into or Out Sapphire

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] berries! I cannot decide if I like [name_f]Sapphire[/name_f] or not. So give me reasons on whether I should add on my list, or my gp name list. Thank you!

It’s a brave choice, but not a definitely-GP. Very word-y for me but it might be nice for you.

I’ve known a couple Sapphires! It’s so bold and beautiful, definitely not a gp.

My cousin’s middle. It’s not a personal favourite of mine but it’s no more out there than [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] or [name_f]Saffron[/name_f], and it certainly works. I love Saffy or [name_f]Sappho[/name_f] for a nickname!

I think [name_f]Sapphira[/name_f] sounds a bit more name like than [name_f]Sapphire[/name_f]. Kind of like [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] vs [name_f]Emerald[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Sapphire[/name_f]. It’s a bold name but similiar enough to [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] that it doesn’t feel too out there

I love the idea of birthstones becoming more popular first names and a great twist on a nature inspired name. They feel classic and offer a subtle way to honor a special family member (any [name_u]September[/name_u] birthdays!?). I also adore all of the symbolism associated with precious stones, sapphires are associated with wisdom and good luck.

The sounds/tone are soft and pleasing to the ear.

Pros:
Pretty imagery
Not common but well known
Sounds fancy :tipping_hand_woman:

Cons:
Maybe too literal and thing like
Maybe not a ā€œprofessionalā€ sounding name
Maybe too fancy?

The biggest issue I would have is that it sounds too literally like a gem stone not a person, but thats part of why the imagery of the name is so vivid too. If I knew a real live [name_f]Sapphire[/name_f] I might feel differently.

I knew a girl called [name_f]Sapphire[/name_f] at school who went by Saffy I was always jealous at how beautiful and unique the name was

What does GP stand for?

Also, I prefer [name_f]Saphira[/name_f]. WDYT?

Guilty pleasure

I like the idea of [name_f]Sapphire[/name_f] sounds similar to one of my big GPS [name_u]Crimson[/name_u].

I can just imagine like some spunky character going by like Saph or Sappy. [name_u]Love[/name_u] that.

Kinda like a cool [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f].

My completely subjective opinion is that [name_f]Sapphire[/name_f] has a bit of a downmarket vibe-- much like [name_f]Crystal[/name_f] and [name_f]Tiffany[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Sapphira[/name_f] personally, but [name_f]Sapphire[/name_f] too, is a lovely choice. It’s a stunning gem and totally underrated. I’d love to meet a little [name_f]Sapphire[/name_f]!

I can’t decide either.

I don’t like [name_f]Sapphira[/name_f] because of the biblical story.

I like [name_f]Safia[/name_f]

sapphire is interesting. I like you could use the nickname ā€˜fire’ but in general I’m not sure. I prefer [name_f]Emerald[/name_f]. Im not won over by [name_f]Sapphire[/name_f] but I’m not against it either.

I dislike it. I think the ā€œfireā€ part throws me off.

You either gotta be full force into this name or you gotta bow out. The less than bold need not apply. But for those of weaker tummies [name_f]Saphira[/name_f] or [name_f]Saffira[/name_f] will have to suffice.

Sapphire is so beautiful! I love that it is a gem stone and a color name. It’s unique, romantic and stunning. I have [name_f]Safira[/name_f] on my list.
