Talk me into these names.

Or out of them, depending on your opinion.
I just feel like I’ve been looking and looking so much I might have crossed of a really great option just because of name fatigue. I’d also appreciate any ideas. I’ve read every single blog on the website and every single list. I’m not kidding. I need help.
Last name sounds like Manor.

Leo- I love, but I just had a not so pleasant accquaintance name her son Leo, so now I have a bad taste in my mouth.

Alec- So stylish and smooth, but it feels awkward when I say it.

Smith, Jones, or Davis- I love the nuveau surname names, but I’m not sure their right for a baby.

Amias- Love, but is it too effeminate?

Hawkins- Great Treasure Island reference, and we love the nn Hawk. But does it sound like hawking a luggie?

Falcon- Balloon boy?

Edison- Too trendy sounding?

Walter- My #1 pick before meeting my husband, but I don’t like the double r endings with Walter Manor.

Gus- Our current #1, but we cannot chose a middle name. The more difficult it becomes, the more we’re doubting our choice.

Basically, if you could salesman me in or out of any of these I would love it. Just please don’t be mean. I’m already a hormonal wreck.

Thank you so much for any help!

I love the name [name]Gus[/name], we were thinking about it with our 3rd, but it was a girl so her middle name is [name]Auguste[/name], after a great grandmother. Anyway, have you considered [name]Gus[/name] Hawkins?? I think that sounds very nice, unique, but not too far out there, and [name]Gus[/name] leans more classy and traditional.
The other name I love from the names you mentioned is [name]Davis[/name]. Good luck! and blessings to you and your baby

If [name]Gus[/name] is your number one name you should go for it. Middle name suggestions

[name]Gus[/name] [name]Andrew[/name] Manor
[name]Gus[/name] [name]Mitchell[/name] Manor
[name]Gus[/name] Your-Maiden- Name Manor
[name]Gus[/name] [name]Martin[/name] Manor
[name]Gus[/name] [name]Edison[/name] Manor
[name]Gus[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] Manor
[name]Gus[/name] [name]Davis[/name] Manor

I think all these names sound stylish and are quite handsome without being too gimmicky. Good luck!

[name]Gus[/name] and [name]Walter[/name] are wonderful names. I don’t think [name]Walter[/name] Manor sounds bad or awkward. I love both, but [name]Walter[/name] is a fav for me.

I like [name]Gus[/name] [name]Edison[/name]! [name]Edison[/name] is a favorite of mine, and it goes really well with [name]Gus[/name] and with your last name.

I think the issue with [name]Gus[/name] is that it’s short and ends in an s, so it tends to run into the middle name. It’s just part of what comes with the name. [name]Don[/name]'t worry too much about it, pick a middle name you love and go for it!

[name]Leo[/name], [name]Gus[/name], and [name]Walter[/name] are the best of the bunch.

[name]Leo[/name]- I love [name]Leo[/name], I don’t think it matters if someone you don’t like named their son this, if it was your best friend that would be a different story…

[name]Alec[/name]- All I think when I hear this is Smart [name]Alec[/name]

[name]Smith[/name], [name]Jones[/name], or [name]Davis[/name]- I actually like [name]Smith[/name] but I might be hard to pull off. [name]Jones[/name] Manor sounds really great  [name]Davis[/name] is too much like [name]David[/name] it would always get mistaken for [name]David[/name]

[name]Amias[/name]- NMS, a little too much

Hawkins- hawking was the first thing that can to mind for me, sorry :frowning:

[name]Falcon[/name]- [name]Bird[/name] not a baby

[name]Edison[/name]- I don’t think its too trendy, I run a Pre-K and have never met one

[name]Walter[/name]- I love [name]Walter[/name], maybe you could call him [name]Walt[/name] to avoid the double r

[name]Gus[/name]- No offense but I really don’t like this one, I cannot think of a name that would go well with it

Good [name]Luck[/name]

I like [name]Leo[/name], but it’s too trendy for my taste.

[name]Alec[/name] is my favorite nickname for [name]Alexander[/name]; I think it sounds sophisticated and a bit British. I suppose “smart-alec” is a concern.

As long as your last name really isn’t Manor, I think [name]Smith[/name], [name]Jones[/name] or [name]Davis[/name] would work–especially [name]Smith[/name]. It’s such a common last name that maybe it’s ready to be revitalized as a first name. If it was Manor, I’d have to smile at the image of a grand English estate–[name]Smith[/name] Manor.

I hadn’t heard [name]Amias[/name], so I looked it up on here. If you’re pronouncing it uh-MY-uss, I don’t think it sounds feminine–[name]Silas[/name], [name]Tobias[/name], [name]Elias[/name], etc. I think you’d have to be constantly spelling it for people.

I kinda like Hawkins, especially the nickname [name]Hawk[/name]. Have you considered the variation Hawkin? That makes it sound more like a first name than a surname.

I do think [name]Falcon[/name] is a bit much.

I like [name]Edison[/name] and [name]Walter[/name].

Sorry, I’ve never really cared for [name]Gus[/name]. I do like [name]August[/name], and [name]Gus[/name] would make a handy nickname. Since he won’t be born in [name]August[/name], though, perhaps [name]Augustus[/name] or [name]Augustine[/name]? But those seem a bit stuffy, and if you really like [name]Gus[/name], go for it.

My thoughts are:

[name]Leo[/name]- alternatives [name]Rex[/name], [name]Earl[/name], [name]Lincoln[/name], [name]Constantine[/name]

[name]Alec[/name]- I prefer [name]Alex[/name] and just love [name]Alexander[/name] I don’t think he is ever out of style, a way out suggestion is Aled but I prefer [name]Grant[/name], [name]Lachlan[/name], [name]Hunter[/name] and [name]James[/name]

[name]Smith[/name], [name]Jones[/name], or [name]Davis[/name] Ditch them all except for [name]Davis[/name] he is a keeper as is [name]Harrison[/name], [name]Jackson[/name], [name]Archer[/name], [name]Mitchell[/name], [name]Miles[/name], [name]Griffin[/name] and [name]Thomas[/name]

[name]Amias[/name]- Very out there consider [name]Able[/name], [name]Micah[/name], [name]Hugo[/name], [name]Heath[/name], [name]Jonas[/name]

Hawkins- Not that much charisma try [name]Montgomery[/name] nn [name]Monte[/name], [name]Franklin[/name], [name]Devlin[/name], [name]Devon[/name]

[name]Falcon[/name]- No to this one, instead Rove, [name]Chase[/name], [name]Chance[/name], [name]Tripp[/name], [name]Colton[/name], [name]Cole[/name]

[name]Edison[/name]- No too vintage [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Edison[/name] is my first thought, try [name]Carmichael[/name], [name]Everett[/name], [name]Mitchell[/name], [name]Jamison[/name]

[name]Walter[/name]-yes get away from the er sound. Try [name]Wilfred[/name], [name]Wills[/name], [name]Wilson[/name], [name]Gilbert[/name], [name]Thomas[/name], [name]Dashiell[/name]

[name]Gus[/name]- I do not like [name]Gus[/name] at all but if you have to have it go with [name]Angus[/name], instead the handsome [name]Alister[/name]/[name]Alistair[/name] wins hands down

Have you thought about using another name beginning in Haw- to get to nn [name]Hawk[/name]? I think [name]Hawthorne[/name], nn [name]Hawk[/name], would be very handsome. But like auroradawn said, only as long as his name doesn’t end up sounding like an English country estate

Amais lookks feminine, even if it’s not.

I’m a fan of [name]Davis[/name]. It’s much fresher than [name]David[/name]. Not many kids are named [name]David[/name] anymore, so I don’t know that it would really be all that confusing to people.

Hawkins is not really my style, but I do love the way it sounds and [name]Hawk[/name] as a nn is pretty awesome.

I forgot [name]Angus[/name] when I was listing names for which [name]Gus[/name] could be a nickname, but rollo mentioned it. I wonder if the reason you’re having trouble picking a middle name for [name]Gus[/name] is that it does sound like a nickname. When you put a full name after it, especially a long one or one that has one or more nicknames, it sounds a bit weird. Best of luck!

I love [name]Gus[/name] and [name]Edison[/name], and [name]Leo[/name] is great too. I was also going to suggest [name]Hawthorne[/name], nn [name]Hawk[/name] which is very handsome

What about [name]Gus[/name] [name]Hawthorne[/name]? I agree that [name]Gus[/name] [name]Edison[/name] is also a great combo!

I love Hawkins nn [name]Hawk[/name], that absolutely gets my vote! I love literary names and [name]Hawk[/name] is such a great nickname for a little boy.
Hawking did not come to my mind at all, I personally don’t think he would get teased for that on the playground. [name]Even[/name] though [name]Hawthorne[/name] is a literary name as well I just love Hawkins so much more!

I really dig [name]Hawk[/name] too! I think it’s really fun and not trying to hard. I know everybody loves [name]Gus[/name] these days, but all it reminds me of is [name]Gus[/name] [name]Gus[/name] the mouse from the animated [name]Cinderella[/name]. I can’t think of a longer name that [name]Hawk[/name] could be a nickname for, but maybe you could just use it as the official first name and then give him a more traditional middle like [name]James[/name]??

[name]Just[/name] try to relax. You’ll know you’ve found the name eventually  even though the hormones try to convince you that you won’t. You have lots of cute ideas.

Have you considered [name]Leander[/name] nn [name]Leo[/name]? I love [name]Gus[/name] but as a nn with name [name]August[/name]. [name]Hawthorne[/name] is a big name but has a nice ring to it and [name]Everett[/name] or [name]Emmett[/name] might be names you might consider too.

[name]Love[/name] [name]August[/name], nn [name]Gus[/name]. Have you considered [name]August[/name] [name]Leo[/name] or [name]August[/name] Hawkins? I really like [name]August[/name] [name]Leo[/name] Manor, nn [name]Gus[/name]. Adorable nn but very sophisticated-sounding full name. Also he could go by [name]Leo[/name] at some point if you choose!
