First off I’m very aware of the fact that [name_f]Greer[/name_f] is not everyone’s cup of tea and am completely fine with that. It holds a very special tie to my dad whose name I will never actually get to use on any potential children (it’d be like naming the poor kid [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Johnson[/name_m] if I used his actual name).
So what do you think of [name_f]Greer[/name_f]? What sort of associations do you have? What kind of girl do you picture? Etc.
I would probablly use [name_f]Greer[/name_f] as a middle but I’m not sure if it makes a good first. I guess it all depends on the middle and last name. I picture [name_f]Greer[/name_f] as a pretty dark haired child.
Because [name_f]Greer[/name_f] has a special connection to your Dad, I love it for your baby girl! But, because it is on the “unisex” side of the spectrum, I would pair it with a more traditionally girl name; something like [name_f]Greer[/name_f] [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], [name_f]Greer[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Greer[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], [name_f]Greer[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], or [name_f]Greer[/name_f] [name_f]Lillian[/name_f].
When I think of [name_f]Greer[/name_f], I see a smart little girl with tons of spunk!
If you would like more middle name suggestions, please let me know.
[name_f]Greer[/name_f] isn’t a name I would probably choose, but I could totally see falling in love with the name after meeting a sweet, spunky little girl that wore the name. I like surname type names for boys, but not as much for girls.
Of course I love [name_f]Greer[/name_f]. I don’t have a mental picture of a [name_f]Greer[/name_f] but it seems like a name for a darker haired kid. [name_f]One[/name_f] syllable names are striking and daring, so I imagine a confident and mature child
I actually know a [name_f]Greer[/name_f]. She’s very pretty, but a bit, shall we say, promiscuous. She actually hates her name, and thinks it’s ugly. She goes almost solely by [name_m]Gibby[/name_m].
I picture [name_f]Greer[/name_f] as a really light-skinned, fair-haired child.
I’d definitely pair it with a more feminine middle (or a feminine first with [name_f]Greer[/name_f] in the middle if that works for you) for her to fall back on.
Meh. For me it is just too much of a surname for most girls to pull off. She would have to be really pretty in my opinion to carry such a heavy-feeling surname.
I love family names- If it means something to you–go for it! It’s a pretty, unusual name. I’ve never known a [name_f]Greer[/name_f] personally, but I’ve always pictured a cute, spunky, dark haired girl.
I think it sounds pretty masculine and harsh, so I would pair it with a really feminine middle name. I do like that it has family ties though, so I think it can work with the right middle.
I think it would be great as a middle name, but it’s a bit masculine and harsh-sounding for a first name for a little girl and it doesn’t really lend itself to any nicknames if she doesn’t like it.
I’m a fan. It’s such an elegant, sophisticated name — with a little spunk. (I think of the gorgeous [name_f]Greer[/name_f] [name_m]Garson[/name_m]. Not a unisex name to me AT ALL.)
It’s a splendid name. I love it. It is sophisticated, strong, elegant and I can imagine Dr. [name_f]Greer[/name_f]…, Supreme [name_m]Court[/name_m] [name_u]Justice[/name_u] [name_f]Greer[/name_f]…CEO [name_f]Greer[/name_f], Executive Editor [name_f]Greer[/name_f], Academy Award Winner [name_f]Greer[/name_f]…
I love [name_f]Greer[/name_f] and if it has a special meaning to you then use it! [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t let anyone else’s opinion on names influence you. I have names that I hate and often criticize but that is only my opinion and I wouldn’t want to dissuade some one from choosing a name that they love! [name_f]Greer[/name_f] is a lovely name.
I’ve been in love with the name [name_f]Greer[/name_f] for a while now. I say go for it! I love that it has a special meaning for you and don’t think you should let others deter you from using it.
I love the name [name_f]Greer[/name_f]! It’s on my short list. I prefer the spelling [name_f]Grier[/name_f], but [name_f]Greer[/name_f] is just as nice.
