So I’m getting down to the wire now (35+ weeks pregnant). I just stumbled on the name [name_m]Truman[/name_m]. In my head this name seems ready for revival - it’s got a great meaning (and the immediate implication of a [name_u]True[/name_u] [name_m]Man[/name_m] is cool), it’s a sweet spot name that everyone knows but you don’t ever hear. I’m surprised that it’s not even in the top 1000.
Makes me wonder - am I missing something that makes this name not ready for revival. Is it too clunky? Is it the movie association? The president association?
I’m not a fan of trends, including surname names, but it seems like [name_m]Truman[/name_m] has a long history as a given name (ie Capote).
My family’s surname is Truebl00d, which is why I thought this could be a cool honor name for my side of the family, without vampire connections
I love [name_m]Truman[/name_m]! And I looove [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] and [name_m]Simon[/name_m]. [name_m]Truman[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] would be a great match to your other kids names.
I never liked it that much but now I think its good! I like the nickname [name_u]True[/name_u], [name_m]Truman[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is great and [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_m]Simon[/name_m], and [name_m]Truman[/name_m] is an amazing sibset ([name_u]Love[/name_u] your kids’ names!)
I’m definitely going to add it to our list. My biggest hesitation is the only natural nn is [name_u]True[/name_u]/[name_m]Tru[/name_m], which feels trendy and Kardashian-y (and feminine, thanks to Kardashian). So I think I’d have to be committed to calling him just [name_m]Truman[/name_m].
