Tallulah

This name has been on my list on and off for years now, but I only came to really think about it when a family friend announced her newborn baby [name_f]Talullah[/name_f] on Facebook around 3 years ago. Then I forgot about it again until I watched [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] on Netflix a few weeks back, the Netflix original movie with [name_f]Ellen[/name_f] [name_u]Page[/name_u].

I prefer the [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] spelling.

What are your thoughts on the name? Is it too cutesy? I always thought it was too cutesy to be taken seriously until I watched [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f], where she always goes by [name_f]Lu[/name_f], and she wore it well for a 20-something year old.

Too cutesy for me. Something about it sounds nicknamey- or like a fairytale character that I wouldn’t actually use on a real person.

You have [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] in your signature – how would you compare [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] to [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f]? They have the same sounds, rhythm, just a different beginning. Is it because [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] has been used more so it’s more recognisable than [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f]? I am genuinely interested.

@archer27: Quirky is just what I am looking for! [name_f]Glad[/name_f] you see it that way!

I absolutely love [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f]! [name_u]Ever[/name_u] since I watched Bugsy [name_m]Malone[/name_m] I’ve loved the stylish, 50s/60s vibe it gives off, and I love the energy it has in terms of sound. I think it would work fine on an adult, I don’t really see it as cutesy, more happy, smiley, energetic, fun. It feels quite on trend (for the UK) and I always expect it to be more popular than it is. But, anyway, [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f]'s awesome!

[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] is such a sassy, playful name! At first I didnt really like (due to the possible nn [name_u]Tallie[/name_u]), but it has grow on me very fast. Idont see it as cutesy at all, and the nns [name_f]Lu[/name_f], [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] and [name_f]Lula[/name_f] are gorgeous.

I would never use it, personally, but I think it’s really cute and quirky.

I have a rekindled love for the name [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] after watching that movie too! My favourite nickname for [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] is [name_f]Lula[/name_f] (which is an awesome vintage name in it’s own right).

I love, love, [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f]! So many pretty nicknames and it’s a beautiful name with a bit of sass.

I just watched that movie this weekend. It was really good! I was so rooting for [name_f]Lu[/name_f] and [name_f]Maggie[/name_f].

Reminds me of the show Tick Tock. Or whatever that show is called

[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f]'s gorgeous! I’ve always pictured a [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] to be sassy and full of energy, definitely no cutesy vibes for me. I think I get that imagery because of [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] Bankhead though!

[name_f]Talullah[/name_f] is on our list as a serious contender. It is DH favorite pick. I see it as southern because of [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] Bankhead. It is sassy, quirky and full of spunk. We love the nickname [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] which is where I am guessing you are getting the cutesy feeling from.

I group [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] and [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] both together. They’re both so spunky and fun. I personally would never use either one, but they’re bold and quirky.

Thank you guys!
