[name_m]Just[/name_m] curious about thoughts on the name [name_f]Taryn[/name_f]. Have you heard it before/met one? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like or dislike it? What does it remind you of?
I grew up living near a nice girl named [name_f]Taryn[/name_f] (the only one I’ve ever known) and she gave the name a good impression for me. I like the sound of it but it’s too close to my mom’s name for me to consider using (we’re a small family and name overlap would drive me insane).
I’m genuinely surprised I haven’t seen this name on anyone’s name list yet!
I’ve known two girls named [name_f]Taryn[/name_f]! I’m pretty neutral about it. Different spelling, but it makes me think of the SNL actor [name_u]Taran[/name_u] Killam. There’s also an actress on [name_u]Orange[/name_u] is the [name_u]New[/name_u] [name_m]Black[/name_m] named [name_f]Taryn[/name_f] [name_m]Manning[/name_m].
I do like [name_f]Taryn[/name_f], but like other “T” names more (namely [name_u]Tali[/name_u], [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], and [name_f]Tiana[/name_f], ha!). I considered [name_f]Taryn[/name_f] [name_f]Shoshana[/name_f] a while back; I like a Hebrew “S” name with her, for some reason.
I’ve met one once; she wasn’t the nicest, but could’ve been the circumstances of the encounter so I don’t let it impact how I see [name_f]Taryn[/name_f] too much.
Not my favourite name, but I don’t hate it.
I did know a [name_f]Taryn[/name_f] and she was sweet, kind, funny, and a wonderful person, so I only have positive vibes associated with it
To me [name_f]Taryn[/name_f] seems very American. I’ve never met a European with this name (I’m not saying there aren’t any - it just isn’t very common). I’m also not really sure whether to pronounce it TAR-in or TAIR-in. Either way, it’s not my personal style but I think it’s definitely usable.
Definitely not my style but I think it sounds nice. I’ve met 2-3 over the years, none of whom left me with a distinct impression either way (negative vs. positive). [name_f]My[/name_f] first thought about [name_f]Taryn[/name_f] is that she could be the new “[name_f]Karen[/name_f]”.
I like [name_f]Taryn[/name_f], though it does seem pretty masculine to me. I follow an illustrator on Instagram named [name_f]Taryn[/name_f] and that’s my only experience with the name. I assumed it was a modern invention, and was pleasantly surprised to learn it has history.
