I’d PN it [name_u]Tay[/name_u] - rhymes with play - uh, tay-uh.
It sounds cool! It would be cute on a baby and serious on an adult. I like it a lot - I don’t think I have any real life association with it but feel like I know it from a TV programme maybe?

I automatically pronounce it TY-uh, and I have absolutely 0 associations with it. It has a unique sound, and I wouldn’t find it odd on a girl today. I do know a young woman named T@i, which is kind of close, and it wears well.

I would pronounce it TAY-UH, like the beginning of [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] with an -a on the end.

My first association with [name_f]Taya[/name_f] was [name_f]Taya[/name_f] [name_u]Kyle[/name_u], because I saw the movie American Sniper years ago and that name stuck out to me. Second, I think of an old coworker whose daughter is named [name_f]Mattea[/name_f] (but spelled very uniquely so I won’t write the actual spelling) and they call her “[name_u]Tay[/name_u]-[name_m]Ah[/name_m]” as a nickname.

It seems like it’s trying to put a creative spin on [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] or is a nickname name. I’m not the biggest fan but I think it can work fine.

I wouldn’t care for it as I am not a fan of the [name_f]Maya[/name_f]/Layla/Taya sounds, but I taught a lovely girl named [name_f]Taya[/name_f] so now I like it.

TIE-ya.

I would pronounce it either ty-uh (my first instinct) or tay-uh. I don’t have any associations with the name.

I’d say “tay-ah,” with “tay” rhyming with clay. I think it’s a nice alternative to the dated [name_u]Taylor[/name_u].

I knew one who said it as [name_u]Tay[/name_u]-ah. I love it, but the meaning I know of is “favourite”, so I always thought it’d be a bit awkward if you had more than one child :joy:

I would pronounce it [name_u]Tay[/name_u]-uh (like day) but only because I know a girl named [name_f]Matea[/name_f] who goes by [name_f]Taya[/name_f]. I can see how it would be intuitively pronounced [name_m]Ty[/name_m]-uh

I know a Tayah and [name_f]Thea[/name_f] who pronounced her name like [name_f]Taya[/name_f] and they were both positive associations for me. I would pronounce it like [name_u]Tay[/name_u] (rhymes with day)- uh

I know a Taia (I think that’s how she spells her name?) pronounced “tay-uh”.

My default pronunciation is TY-uh. There is a toddlers’ cartoon starring personified bus Tayo, that’s my only association. Kind of reminds me of my friend [name_f]Taniyah[/name_f].

Oh wow I didn’t know this – thank you for telling me!

I go to school with a [name_f]Taya[/name_f] so she’s my main association. I would pronounce it [name_u]Tay[/name_u](like in [name_u]Taylor[/name_u])-uh.

I’d pronounce it [name_m]Ty[/name_m]-uh! I knew a really sweet girl with the name
