Taylor?

What’s your opinion [name]Taylor[/name]? [name]Do[/name] you think its a bit outdated or overused or if its paired with a pretty name works well, if so what’s your suggestions?

In my opinion, [name]Taylor[/name] is quite dated. Not overused today but definitely overused in the late 80’s/90’s/early 00’s. I would advise against using it unless you really love it, but that’s just my opinion.

I know of a lot of Taylors, both girls and boys and ranging in age from early 20s down to my neighbour who’s about six or seven, and of a multitude of spellings ([name]Tayler[/name], Taela, [name]Tayla[/name] etc). It depends where you are, of course, but I still think it’s useable. Of course, I don’t think it was as big in the UK as it was in the States, which could be why I don’t perceive it as overly used.

I think you are right! as I live in Australia, I haven’t really seen the immense popularity. I think I’ve known two Taylas and one Taila. I’ve just always liked the traditional spelling best.

I think it is very dated, 80’s-90’s style. 3 years ago, my cousin named her daughter [name]Taylor[/name] [name]Madison[/name]. [name]Even[/name] though I’m not a fan of the name at all (2 last-name-style names…in a row! NMS at all) little [name]Taylor[/name] does seem to suit her name. She is cute and quiet, smart and sweet. So, I now have a positive association with the name.

I dislike unisex names in general, but particularly [name]Taylor[/name], as it feels dated.

What about kaylor? or maybe just Aylor?

[name]Taylor[/name] is dated and if you wanted an up to date name that is pretty and feminine and that has echoes of [name]Taylor[/name] then I highly recommend [name]Tahlia[/name] (tah lee ah).

[name]Taylor[/name] for a boy, or a girl?

I know a boy [name]Taylor[/name], and a girl [name]Tayla[/name]. Personally, I wish the girl’s parents had just gone with [name]Taylor[/name] or [name]Tayler[/name]. I think [name]Saylor[/name] / [name]Sailor[/name] is a nice alternative for either gender.

I only like [name]Taylor[/name] for a boy, personally–in large part due to my paternal heritage, though.

I love [name]Taylor[/name], it’s my sisters name. A lot of people say its dated, but I don’t really see it. I think it’s great for either gender, and not overly popular.

I strongly dislike [name]Taylor[/name] for either sex. To me, its an occupation, and not even a very exciting occupation at that.

I actually still really like [name]Taylor[/name] for a girl, its one of my guilty pleasures. Too dated though, I still like it.

[name]Taylor[/name] is okay… It sounds too feminine for a boy, but looks too masculine for a girl. Also, I really really do not like names with “y”'s in them. I think the name is alright, it seems plain, boring and a little thoughtless.

Oh so dated. Much better on a boy. I also dislike Aylor and Kaylor.
