First of all, thank you so much to everyone on this forum that has helped guide and narrow down my name lists for baby #2 for months now. I don’t share any name picks with anyone but y’all and my husband, so having this outlet for ideas and feedback was awesome. [name_u]Truly[/name_u] appreciated!
On [name_u]January[/name_u] 21,2021 our family welcomed Torben [name_m]Nicolas[/name_m] at 5:38 am weighing 9lb 9.5oz.
I found Torben just in my last month of pregnancy, I had felt I had searched and searched for a suitable Scandinavian boys name to honor my husband’s Danish heritage, but they all just didn’t flow with our LN or were too short on syllables. Having a [name_m]Zebediah[/name_m] already, a 1 syllable named brother felt too lacking. [name_m]Reading[/name_m] [name_m]Torben[/name_m]’s meaning of thunder bear, I fell in love. For me, it feels familiar and not too out there, but also I’ve never met a [name_m]Torben[/name_m]. When [name_m]Torben[/name_m] was born a whole pound heavier than my first son, thick dark hair and the “chubbiest cheeks” my midwife had ever seen. I knew he was a [name_u]Thunder[/name_u] [name_m]Bear[/name_m]. We plan on [name_m]Tor[/name_m] or [name_m]Ben[/name_m] as a NN, maybe even [name_u]Toby[/name_u] or [name_m]Bear[/name_m]. I’m sure he’ll have multiple like [name_m]Zebediah[/name_m] does.
Oh,Nicolas. Another name that I had never considered until my last month of pregnancy. I wanted to use a family name from my husbands side, since our first son’s name is a family name from mine. I had asked some family members, but hadn’t liked any of the options, honestly. Until, my husband’s Grandma suggested [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m]. I had had [name_u]Nico[/name_u] on my girls list and [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m] on my boys. When I looked into [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] and saw that St.[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] was the [name_m]Saint[/name_m] of the city of [name_f]Myra[/name_f] I almost cried. [name_f]Myra[/name_f] is the name of my late mother. She passed before meeting my first son. [name_m]Nicolas[/name_m] just felt right.
Congratulations on your boy! [name_m]Torben[/name_m] [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] is so sweet! [name_f]Welcome[/name_f] to the world [name_m]Torben[/name_m]
