[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone! My fiance and I are expecting our first baby, but we’re not finding out the gender. We are completely stuck on baby names and can’t think of where to start for the life of us!

We’re a young couple (both 22 years old) and want a “grandparent” name that also sounds / fits in a modern setting? I’m not sure how to explain but we can’t decide on a name we like. Our surname is [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] and my partner and I have fairly unusual names for our generation and we like the idea of keeping with that sort of thing?

Please help us! Honestly, ignore all of that above if you’d like and just give us names you like! We’re open to any ideas!

If you can identify a decade that fits you and your fiancee’s taste, you can look at the Social Security top 1000 list for those years. Nameberry has lists by decade. I’d also recommend looking at your family trees.

If I understand your post correctly, you’re looking for names that aren’t currently back on trend. Instead of great grandparent names like [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] or [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], you’re looking for names that haven’t cycled back yet? That is a great way of ensuring your kids have familiar names that aren’t super popular!
