Thank you for the replies so far! I’m on the fence about [name]Percival[/name] [name]Julius[/name]- I think there are too many awkward sounds in it.
I wonder, why do you guys not like [name]Darwin[/name] [name]Elliot[/name]?
Cut [name]Percival[/name] [name]Julius[/name]. I’m sorry, but [name]Percival[/name] [name]Julius[/name] sounds like some massively prissy British nobleman who saunters about his manor wearing a bathrobe and slippers monogrammed with his family coat of arms. [name]Percival[/name] [name]Jude[/name] would be an improvement.
ETA: [name]Leopold[/name] [name]Darcy[/name] was #5, but I said it out loud and realized that I couldn’t differentiate where [name]Leopold[/name] ended and [name]Darcy[/name] began. It comes out as [name]Leopold[/name] Arcy or Leopol [name]Darcy[/name].
I’m surprised that most votes are going to [name]Darwin[/name] [name]Elliot[/name]. I think [name]Darwin[/name] is firm on my list, but I’m willing to change the middle. Most likely to go is [name]Percival[/name] [name]Julius[/name].
This is a hard choice! I love your taste as you know…
I voted for [name]Percival[/name] [name]Julius[/name] - as much as I adore [name]Percival[/name] and find [name]Julius[/name] handsome, there’s just something not right when put together.
There was no competition for my vote. I would cut [name]Darwin[/name]. Besides the obvious connections, I find it to be a terrible sounding name. I adore [name]Albert[/name].
[name]Frederick[/name] [name]Archer[/name]
[name]Henry[/name], but not so much [name]Alistair[/name]
[name]Leopold[/name] [name]Darcy[/name], although I prefer [name]Leonard[/name] or just [name]Leo[/name]
[name]Edmund[/name] [name]Atlas[/name]
[name]Albert[/name], not so much [name]Ferdinand[/name]
I don’t like:
[name]Darwin[/name] [name]Elliot[/name]
[name]Crispin[/name] [name]Avery[/name]
[name]Percival[/name] [name]Julius[/name] - I think I’d like either of them by themselves but it’s an awkward combination
[name]Phinneas[/name] [name]Aubrey[/name] - again, I like both names (although I’d spell it [name]Phineas[/name]), but together it’s a bit much for me
[name]Victor[/name] [name]Cyril[/name]
I really like [name]Albert[/name], [name]Frederick[/name], [name]Archer[/name] and [name]Edmund[/name], as well as [name]Leopold[/name] if you’d use [name]Leo[/name] for a nn. So I guess I’d vote for some combo of those.
*actually I knew there was a reason this sounded super good to me so I looked it up and apparently [name]Percival[/name] was Sir [name]Edmund[/name] [name]Hillary[/name]'s middle name, your mileage may vary on whether that’s a good thing or not
My least favourite is [name]Darwin[/name] [name]Elliot[/name]. I’m surprised a lot of people don’t like [name]Percival[/name] [name]Julius[/name] actually, because that’s one of my favourites on the list! Perhaps [name]Percival[/name] [name]Darcy[/name] or [name]Percival[/name] [name]Albert[/name] works better though.
I’ll rate them out of 10:
[name]Frederick[/name] [name]Archer[/name]- 5, nice but doesn’t stand out to me
[name]Darwin[/name] [name]Elliot[/name]- 3.5, it doesn’t seem as romantic or elegant as your other choices
[name]Crispin[/name] [name]Avery[/name]- 7, I love [name]Crispin[/name] but dislike [name]Avery[/name]. [name]Crispin[/name] [name]Alistair[/name] or [name]Crispin[/name] [name]Albert[/name]?
[name]Alistair[/name] [name]Henry[/name]- 8, very sophisticated
[name]Leopold[/name] [name]Darcy[/name]- 10, I love both names and especially [name]Darcy[/name]! (partly because of Mr. [name]Darcy[/name])
[name]Percival[/name] [name]Julius[/name]- 9.5, I agree something seems a bit off about the combo, but I love the two names too much individually!
[name]Phinneas[/name] [name]Aubrey[/name]- 7, I tend to dislike the “ph” sounds and prefer the single N
[name]Edmund[/name] [name]Atlas[/name]- 7.5, don’t like the names much individually but they’re so lovely together
[name]Victor[/name] [name]Cyril[/name]- 7, same as [name]Edmund[/name] [name]Atlas[/name]
[name]Albert[/name] [name]Ferdinand[/name]- 8, [name]Ferdinand[/name] [name]Albert[/name] would be higher- they go great together but [name]Albert[/name] feels a bit clunky to me and I like [name]Ferdinand[/name] much more!
Thanks for all of the opinions guys! I think in the end, I will change the middle name for [name]Darwin[/name] ([name]Elliot[/name] feels sort of flimsy) and completely cut Pervical [name]Julius[/name]. Neither name are really doing it for me.
Thanks again!
