Could you make any great sibsets out of these? [name]Feel[/name] free to suggest names that you think would go well with my list. I’d love to hear your opinions! Middle names would be either [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] or [name]Mary[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]. Have fun!
Miriam-I have always loved this name, especially with nn Miri.
Giada-so exotic, beautiful and romantic.
Eve-Eve feels a little boring. I prefer the more romantic Eva.
Maeve-I don’t love it or hate it. I can see it growing on me over time, but I’m not there yet.
Libby-I think it’s a nice name in a very understated way.
Amoret-I haven’t heard this one before, but it reminds of amoretto. Probably not what you’re going for. Sorry.
Sibsets from these names: Miriam and Eve sound like sisters. Giada and Libby have a nice ring too.
[name]Miriam[/name] – I would love to see this on a baby. I have only met one [name]Miriam[/name], and she is my age, so to me this would completely catch people off-guard as a child’s name, but in a good way. Nickname suggestion: [name]Mim[/name]. [EDIT: Totally didn’t notice this listed in your signature already!]
[name]Giada[/name] – Not entirely sure how to pronounce this. That alone makes me dislike it, but if I heard it said aloud and got used to it, I’m certain it would grow on me to an extent.
[name]Eve[/name] – I went through a phase of loving both [name]Eve[/name] and [name]Eden[/name], never sure which I loved more. I tended to lean toward [name]Eden[/name] just because it has more substance than the abrupt [name]Eve[/name]. However, again, I know that if I were to meet a child named [name]Eve[/name], I would adore it.
[name]Maeve[/name] – I like this more than [name]Eve[/name]. It has the same great feel and general sound, but it has more substance to it. It feels like more of a name.
[name]Libby[/name] – [name]Love[/name] this! I love nicknamey names as given names, and would love to see a child named [name]JUST[/name] [name]Libby[/name], not [name]Elizabeth[/name], [name]Liberty[/name], or any other “formal” name. [name]Libby[/name] is fun and spunky.
[name]Amoret[/name] – Hm. I like this, but something about it just doesn’t “stand out” to me.
Suggestions based on those you have:
[name]Naomi[/name]
Guida
[name]Neve[/name] (three pronunciation options: NAY-vay, NEEV, or [name]NEV[/name])
[name]Maude[/name]
[name]Eppie[/name]
[name]Ayelet[/name]
[name]Arlet[/name]
[name]Amara[/name]
[name]Miriam[/name] - beautiful name; love your nn [name]Mim[/name] - so cute
[name]Giada[/name] - this is very Italian to me, which could be a good or bad thing depending on your background and perspective. I don’t love the name; it makes me think of giardia (but that isn’t an association the average person would likely make). I initially read the name as Glada, which I had never heard, but kind of liked in a feel-good sort of way.
[name]Eve[/name] - I prefer [name]Evelyn[/name] with nn [name]Evy[/name]
[name]Maeve[/name] - I like [name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Libby[/name] - this is cute but a bit too nn-y for me
[name]Amoret[/name] - this does not have a meaning I would want associated with my daughter; I think the connotation behind this word is negative (more like harlot than love) - no offense!
[name]Miriam[/name] - Strong and melodious. [name]Love[/name] the nn [name]Mim[/name].
[name]Giada[/name] - I agree that it sounds pretty ethnic, but it’s also lovely. A good alternative to [name]Gianna[/name].
[name]Eve[/name] - NMS, but I kind of like seeing it on other people.
[name]Maeve[/name] - Getting rather mainstream, but hey, that means people know how to pronounce it.
[name]Libby[/name] - Eh. Too cutesy. I like it better as a nn for [name]Elizabeth[/name].
[name]Amoret[/name] - Have to strongly disagree with pp on this one; [name]Amoret[/name] means “married love,” like fidelity (the namesake character in The Faerie Queene’s primary trait), which is pretty much the opposite of “harlot.” I think it’s gorgeous, as you can see in my signature!
[name]Miriam[/name]- okay but doesn’t really stand out to me. still very Biblical. Suggestions: [name]Ruth[/name], [name]Rebecca[/name], [name]Rachel[/name], [name]Bathsheba[/name], [name]Mireille[/name]
[name]Giada[/name]- romantic, glamorous and Italian. I do think of chef [name]Giada[/name] De Laurentiis. [name]Gianna[/name], [name]Giulia[/name], [name]Julitta[/name], [name]Lydia[/name], [name]Valentina[/name], [name]Francesca[/name], [name]Patrizia[/name]
[name]Eve[/name]- doesn’t really stand out. [name]Ava[/name], [name]Eva[/name], [name]Evanna[/name]/[name]Ivana[/name], [name]Evelina[/name], [name]Vivien[/name] nn [name]Vivi[/name]
[name]Maeve[/name]- great name with tons of dramatic flair. where I live, at least, it would be considered exotic. [name]Saoirse[/name], [name]Caoimhe[/name], [name]Niamh[/name], [name]Orla[/name]/[name]Orlagh[/name], [name]Maelle[/name], [name]Ava[/name]
[name]Libby[/name]- cute but I’m not really a fan of “nickname names” so I would use it as a NN for [name]Elizabeth[/name]. [name]Lily[/name], [name]Tabitha[/name] nn [name]Tibby[/name], [name]Liberty[/name]
[name]Amoret[/name]- sweet, soft and romantic. [name]Anais[/name] (for some reason it always give me the same vibe as [name]Amoret[/name]), [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Scarlett[/name], [name]Amandine[/name]
[name]Miriam[/name] dislike
[name]Giada[/name] dislike
[name]Eve[/name] - ok
[name]Maeve[/name] - there are worst names out there
[name]Libby[/name] - cute
[name]Amoret[/name] - this is so lovely and mine fave from your list
[name]Miriam[/name]–Old fashioned and sweet
[name]Giada[/name]–A cook on the food network channel. LOL not everyone would know that. I like it
[name]Eve[/name]–I really like [name]Eve[/name]
[name]Maeve[/name]–I do not like this one because I do not know the proper way to pronounce it and do not like the sounds however I do
[name]Libby[/name]–I like this one, not too common and I can see it on a child or adult
[name]Amoret[/name]–Kind of reminds me my name backwards (Aramat) I use it for websites sometimes, but would not consider it for a name
Okay, I see some people don’t understand the pronunciations of these names.
[name]Miriam[/name]- MEER-ee-um
[name]Giada[/name]- JEE-ah-dah- Some people brought up the name [name]Gianna[/name], and I have bad associations with that name. I hadn’t thought about how similar they are, so this may go off the list.
[name]Eve[/name]- I prefer this to [name]Eva[/name] due to [name]Eva[/name]'s popularity, and I really don’t like the name [name]Evelyn[/name].
[name]Maeve[/name]- MAYV- Like [name]May[/name] with a v at the end. Gives it more character, in my opinion.
[name]Libby[/name]- I usually detest nickname names, so I myself am surprised that I love this.
[name]Amoret[/name]- [name]AH[/name]-mor-et- Means little love.
And although I loved some of the combos suggested, I am not open to changing the order of the middle names. Therefore, one would be (NAME) [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] or (NAME) [name]Mary[/name] [name]Katherine[/name].
[name]Miriam[/name] - I know an older lady named [name]Miriam[/name]… it’s not a name I’d pick, but can see how others like it.
[name]Giada[/name] - Makes me think of the cook - [name]Giada[/name] De Laurentiis. I do think the name is grogeous though.
[name]Eve[/name] - I find it a little short although it is pretty.
[name]Maeve[/name] - Interesting but again makes me think of someone else - the author [name]Maeve[/name] Binchey this time.
[name]Libby[/name] - I wonder if people would constantly be asking what [name]Libby[/name] is short for? It wouldn’t be my first choice from your list as it’s a bit cute and I don’t know how it would age.
[name]Amoret[/name] - This one is also interesting. I’ve never heard it before! It wouldn’t be one I would pick because of the T at the end - sounds like a little bit of a harsher ending.
I like [name]Giada[/name] the best - [name]Giada[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] is beautiful! Good luck!
Thanks, Ibinnz! I do love [name]Giada[/name]. However, due to the -a ending, I think it would be best as [name]Giada[/name] [name]Mary[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]. Since [name]Giada[/name] is 3 syllables, I would most likely use [name]Jade[/name] as a nickname.
