Ok weird question…
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think if a girl with a big nose was called [name_f]Rose[/name_f] it would cause teasing due to rhyming?

I very much doubt it. Never saw any schoolyard bullies at the local poetry competition.
I also doubt it! Definitely would never even have come to my mind.
I wouldn’t think so. I cannot see an issue myself.
Bullies will find ANYTHING to tease someone about; these are things we cannot predict.
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a gorgeous name - it’s awful to think a daughter wouldn’t get to have it because some future mean kid might use it against her; screw bullies!
No, that’s a really big stretch. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is beautiful for large and small noses alike.
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] is one of those names you simply cannot make fun of.
I don’t think so. Yes, if a child wants to bully another they will do it with just about anything… but you have to call your child something, and as innocent, easy names go [name_f]Rose[/name_f] pretty much takes the cake. There is nothing odd or stand out about it or as a name. I think it is a pretty safe bet.
LOL. I agree with amberdaydream.
I think even if her name was [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] or [name_f]Violet[/name_f] she might or might not be teased about a big nose, that really depends on the children she’ll go to school with!
I doubt it. And I agree with other posters. It depends on the kids, and her name might have nothing to do with it if there’s any teasing, which might not even happen.
People get bullied not because of their names primarily, but because people will always bully and be bullied. It’s a social necessity.
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] is gorgeous, to arbitrarily claim it’s teasing potential is higher than any other is a little bizarre.
I dint think so. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a gorgeous name
I would never think of that in a million years!
I’m sorry, but I do disagree with what seems to be the consensus on this.
Kids, especially young kids, do tease by rhyming names. For the most part it’s not malicious, it’s just easy, silly behavior. Where it becomes harmful is when the name can be rhymed with something that has the potential to be hurtful. It doesn’t matter if the rhyme is true or untrue. If it’s internalize it can cause real damage.
All that said, I wouldn’t be deterred from using the name [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. I would just make sure I was on the lookout for name-calling. Better to face something head on than to pretend it’s not a potential problem.
Doubt it. I never would have thought of it.
I don’t think [name_f]Rose[/name_f] has any greater teasing potential than other names.
I think that’s a bit of a reach, so no. But you can’t predict it.
Definitely no. They would have to be extraordinarily creative. Bullies will not think of an insult that has to do with a name unless it is very obvious. (Like the name, “[name_m]Benedick[/name_m].”) They would more likely call her Squidward than “Rosenose”. If you are worried about a name like [name_f]Rose[/name_f], just know that kids will always find something to bully another child about, whether or not it has to do with her name. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t think about bullying, [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a beautiful name!
I think it is a stretch to worry about [name_f]Rose[/name_f]/nose! If a kid is going to be a bully, they kid will be a bully. My middle name is [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and, while my nose isn’t large, I have never had this problem. I personally like the name [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and intend on using it in some form if I ever have a daughter
