My only real hesitation with using the short form is leaving the kid options. I personally, am a person who likes to go by their full given name and not my nickname, and some people feel strongly about that. [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] “[name_u]Teddy[/name_u]” would give him that choice if he ended up being more of a formal personality.
Neither are my style, but to me, [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] is cute and I can picture it on a newborn, child, teen, young adult, adult AND elder. But, [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is hard to imagine on anything but a old guy.
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] [name_m]Piers[/name_m] is swoon worthy! Totally professional as an adult, great for a grandpa, and I love [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] as a nickname. I wouldn’t hesitate I think perfect!
I totally agree. You don’t have to give your kid the choice, but you can leave it open as a possibility.
I like [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] in case he feels he outgrows teddy. Plus [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is just do handsome.
Thank you, all, so much!
I feel like a [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] would end up getting called [name_u]Theo[/name_u] in this day and age. [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] is cute and I love it on all ages!
I really like [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] but I would use [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and opt for [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] as a nickname. I’m a fan of full names with nicknames, even if the full name doesn’t get used.
I strongly prefer using [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] as his full name - it gives the kid options, and I think [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] sounds very regal
Thank you very much, everyone!
