Terms of endearment

What term of endearment do you use for you little one/s? We have a son [name_m]Donny[/name_m], but we call him Nog. :smiley:

Far too many for my son, haha. His name is [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] but he is called little man, G-man, G-Dawg, Grif-Grif, and [name_m]Griffey[/name_m].

My mom has limitless nicknames/terms of endearment for my sister and I. The most popular are nugget, baby, baby girl, helpful pineapple, dork, nerd, and sweetie.

My 21 month old is [name_u]Alex[/name_u] but for some reason the whole family tends to call him Bugaboo quite a lot. I’m not sure where it came from! I call him baby boy quite often which i’m sure he’ll grow to hate, haha!

My parents have differing ones for me, but;

Mum: [name_f]Lovey[/name_f] (her most used one), Sweetie, [name_f]Honey[/name_f], Sweetheart
Dad: [name_u]Haley[/name_u] [name_u]Baby[/name_u], [name_u]Baby[/name_u] girl, [name_f]Lovey[/name_f] (rarely), Sweetie girl, [name_f]Princess[/name_f] (only when I was little), Pudding head (when I was really young, I used to say my hair looked like vanilla pudding, and my sister’s hair looked like pumpkins, so now we’re Pudding head and Pumpkin head).

My girls are…
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] Bug, Bugsy, [name_f]Banana[/name_f], [name_f]Nanna[/name_f], Sweetie. And…
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] [name_f]Bee[/name_f], [name_f]Bee[/name_f], [name_f]Belle[/name_f], Bellie, Sweetie.

My husband is [name_f]Babe[/name_f] or Seanathan :wink:

My mum calls me and my siblings [name_f]Dolly[/name_f], dearest, pumpkin, etc. However I am also called Fi, Feezer, Feezy (my name is [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]), and my oldest brother calls me Feezer-Weezer. My mum calls my brother [name_m]John[/name_m] “Doodle”. Nobody has any idea where that came from. :slight_smile:

PS: lawsonhaley, pudding head and pumpkin head are hilarious!

Hmm… I call my brother ‘boyo’ which is Welsh slang. Dad will call me ‘daught’ or ‘daughter’ in a funny voice and he’ll call mum J sometimes. Mum and dad will call each other ‘dear’ on occasion… but that’s it really. Seems we’re not really a terms of endearment household! Lol.

My family tends to use terms of endearment instead of nicknames, which I guess is where my dislike of nns came from. The most common ones were: sweetheart, honey, sweet-pea, baby girl, doodles (I think doodle bug too), sweetie, sweetie-pie, and some that seem like initials, but are words together (ex. Cutest little thing = CLT).
