[name_f]Tess[/name_f] feels like the name, [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] feels like a cutesy nickname - both are adorable.

I gave a soft spot for [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] because it’s a G&S character name, and I also usually prefer to have a full name and nickname (and don’t love Theresa/Therese) so I’d go with [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] ‘Tess’.

However, just [name_f]Tess[/name_f] is wonderfully brisk and bright, and makes me think of [name_f]Tess[/name_f] of the D’Urbervilles. [name_f]She[/name_f] has a real sparkle.

Tessa; I’m the opposite of the user who said [name_f]Tess[/name_f] feels like the full name as for me it sounds like the incomplete nickname! [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] makes it for me. :slight_smile:

I adore both, but have come to slightly prefer [name_f]Tess[/name_f]. [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] is very sweet but sometimes feels too sweet for me. I love the spunk of just [name_f]Tess[/name_f]! It’s one of my favorite names :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

[name_f]Tess[/name_f]. I think it’s trim and literary and beautiful. If I had to go with a full name for [name_f]Tess[/name_f], I’d chose [name_f]Theresa[/name_f] or [name_f]Therese[/name_f] or [name_f]Tesni[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]. [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] is nice, but because I knew a few Tessa’s growing up (and girls with similar names like [name_f]Jenna[/name_f], [name_f]Jessa[/name_f], or [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f]) I see it as more dated / 90s while [name_f]Tess[/name_f] feels more timeless and antique.

I prefer Tess. More tailored, sleek, professional. Stands out amounts all the girl names ending in A. Would sound great with a multi syllable name, but I can also imagine it with another one syllable name. The only exception would be a surname beginning with the S sound.

Both are good, I prefer just [name_f]Tess[/name_f] because I like the simpler feel and sassier vibes and tend to gravitate more towards non -a endings.

Both are excellent, but I have a preference for [name_f]Tess[/name_f]. It is sleek. It is elegant. It is cute on a kid and suits an adult.
