Hello All, thank you for your help. My husband and I are expecting baby #4. If [name_u]Baby[/name_u] is a boy we have been thinking we would like to name the little guy [name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m]. We would call him [name_m]Thad[/name_m]. The only trouble is our last name begins with Da_______. I am afraid the ad at the end of [name_m]Thad[/name_m] will blend in with the Da at the beginning of his last name. What do you think? Thank you!
I think it would be fine
I think the whole name might be a problem with your last name! So much D!? Sorry, don’t think I can get behind this one. Plus, I don’t like Thad. But if you are going for it, I don’t think it matters so much if a nn runs into last.
I think it depends on the “a” sound of your last name but most that I can think of would be fine. If you feel comfortable, maybe provide “your last name sounds like…”. [name_m]Thad Davies is fine. [name_m]Thad[/name_m] [name_m]Danton[/name_m] or Thad Daniels don’t work as well [name_f]IMO[/name_f].
I don’t worry about nickname flow with last name. When last names are used, typically it’s a fomal situation and therefore their full first name is also being used. So if [name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m] sounds fine with your last name, I wouldn’t worry about how [name_m]Thad[/name_m] sounds with it.
Ps I love [name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m]/ [name_m]Thad[/name_m]. It was on our list of possibilities for our youngest.
I agree that it depends on how the A in your last name is pronounced and what follows. [name_m]Thad[/name_m] [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] or [name_m]Thad[/name_m] [name_m]Danton[/name_m] don’t work well but [name_m]Thad[/name_m] [name_m]Davies[/name_m], [name_m]Thad[/name_m] [name_u]Darren[/name_u], etc. work fine.
I think [name_m]Thad[/name_m] will work fine with your last name! And BTW I love the name!
[name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m] is one of my favorite boy names!
I love [name_m]Thad[/name_m] ans [name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m]! For the last name, I would say that it depends on the following letters.
