I have been waiting to write this announcement for years!
[name_u]Leland[/name_u] [name_u]Neil[/name_u] [name_m]Silas[/name_m] joined our family a week ago.
I have loved the name [name_u]Leland[/name_u] since before I met my husband. I just knew it was the name for my son. [name_u]Leland[/name_u] shares the middle name [name_u]Neil[/name_u] with one of his grandpa’s. I had really wanted a second middle name for him, but my husband wasn’t a huge fan of such a long name. The morning he was born, while I was in labor, my husband just said “[name_m]Silas[/name_m]”. And we knew. [name_m]Silas[/name_m] had been on our original list months ago, but was crossed off because it didn’t have enough meaning for us. Turns out, it is full of meaning to us, as it is a part of our son’s name.
I also love that his name is full of nature and adventure, which suits our family very well. [name_u]Leland[/name_u] means meadow, [name_u]Neil[/name_u] means cloud, and [name_m]Silas[/name_m] means forest. The meaning of [name_u]Neil[/name_u] has even more significance to me now, because as I was in labor, I was focusing on the big, grey clouds and melty snowflakes outside the hospital window.
