This is my idea for a game about adoption, inspired by two YouTube channels – Crazy Pieces and Crazy Middles. They have both adopted multiple sibling sets to keep siblings together, stop siblings being separated or bring separated siblings back together.

Part 1 – Biological Kids

  1. Name your two parents. You pick the genders of each parent. For each parent roll a 1-4 die.
    1 = 22
    2 = 23
    3 = 24
    4 = 25
    When you find the age of their oldest biological child, add this to each of their ages. Eg, parent 1 you roll a 3 and their oldest biological child is 8. This would make them 32.

  2. Roll a die 1-3 and add one. This is how many children they already have.
    For each child roll for the gender (even = girl, odd = boy).

  3. Next, roll for each child’s age. Roll a die 1-10 and add one for each child’s age.

Part 2 – Adopted Kids

  1. Now roll a die 1-6 for how many times they are going to adopt.

  2. For each adoption, do the following:
    a. Roll a die 1-3 and add one. This is how many siblings are in the group.

    b. Roll for genders (even = girl, odd = boy).

    c. Roll for ages
    If either parent is <25, roll 1-5 and minus one
    If either parent is <30, roll 1-10 and minus one
    If either parent is <35, roll 1-15 and minus one
    If both parents are over 35, roll 1-18 and minus one

    d. Name each child in the sib set. Give them a birth name and an adopted name (you can use the same name or different names).

  3. The first adoption is immediately, but to decide how many years are between each adoption, roll a die 1-3.
    1 = The number of siblings in the previous group
    2 = The number of siblings in the previous group plus one
    3 = The number of siblings in the previous group minus oneThe s
    Eg, the last adoption involved 3 siblings. Die roll = 2 so there are 4 years until the next adoption.

  4. I hope this isn’t too confusing but after each adoption you will need to add on how old each person is.

Part 3 – The Family

Write a little scenario, if you fancy, about why the siblings were adopted, if they were separated, if they are full or half-siblings, how they joined the family, which members of the family share what rooms… be creative and have fun!!!

[name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_u]Rio[/name_u] and [name_u]Avery[/name_u] were placed into foster care in an emergency situation due to a breakdown in their mother’s mental health. There were a lack of foster parents so they were put into three separate homes. They were in foster care for 6 months before [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] went back to live with her mother. [name_u]Rio[/name_u] and [name_u]Avery[/name_u] remained in foster care. At the first review meeting, [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] was found to have serious signs of neglect. Parental rights were severed between all three children and their mother. Lack of resources meant that all three children had to remain in separate homes but there were regular meetings to keep the siblings in contact with each other. [name_m]Matt[/name_m] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] found out about the group and adopted them to reunite them indefinitely.

[name_f]Isabella[/name_f] and [name_m]Ben[/name_m] were 8 and 4 when their parents were involved in a car crash. Their father died immediately and their mother, who was still pregnant with their younger sibling, was taken to hospital in a critical condition. She was declared brain dead at the hospital but luckily the baby was delivered and survived. [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] and Ben’s grandparents took them in and their sibling was placed into foster care. The baby was named [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] by her foster parents. A few months later and the grandparents were struggling with looking after their two growing, active grandchildren. They were placed into foster care. The children were not adopted as the grandparents did not want to give up the children. [name_m]Matt[/name_m] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] found out about the siblings and decided to offer to adopt the children, as an open adoption to give the children stability but also allow ongoing contact with their grandparents. They agreed and [name_m]Matt[/name_m] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] adopted all three children when they were 12, 8 and 4. They changed aspects of their names slightly but kept them mostly the same as they still have continued contact with their grandparents.

When [name_m]Zach[/name_m] and Sonny’s mother was pregnant with [name_u]Sonny[/name_u], she tested positive on multiple occasions for drug misuse. [name_m]Zach[/name_m] was removed from her care when she was 6 months pregnant with [name_u]Sonny[/name_u] and [name_u]Sonny[/name_u] was removed at birth. Both children were placed into separate foster homes on opposite sides of the country. [name_m]Matt[/name_m] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] adopted both children and united them. [name_m]Zach[/name_m] decided he wanted to keep his name the same but change the spelling and [name_m]Matt[/name_m] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] decided to change Sonny’s name.

Katlin-Mai, Kelsey-Ann and [name_u]Kieran[/name_u] were being abused at home. [name_f]Katlin[/name_f] was the one who tried to keep the family together and keep the abuse hidden from everyone else. She would care for her two younger siblings and protect them when arguments broke out in the house. Eventually the stress became too much for her and she broke down in school one day, revealing everything to a teacher she trusted. All three of were removed immediately. [name_u]Kelsey[/name_u] and [name_u]Kieran[/name_u] were placed together but [name_f]Katlin[/name_f] was placed elsewhere. Over the next three years, [name_f]Katlin[/name_f] struggled to fit in and was moved from place to place. She fell into depression and pined to see her siblings. [name_m]Matt[/name_m] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] thought they had finished adopting but got a call and were told the story of the three siblings. Their hearts went out to [name_f]Katlin[/name_f]. She was placed into their home and they fought for [name_u]Kelsey[/name_u] and [name_u]Kieran[/name_u] to be able to join her. Eventually they were able to bring [name_u]Kelsey[/name_u] and [name_u]Kieran[/name_u] home. Three weeks before the adoption date, they received another phone call about a baby. They tried to explain that they weren’t taking any more children in but when they heard it was a sibling of [name_f]Katlin[/name_f], [name_u]Kelsey[/name_u] and [name_u]Kieran[/name_u], they accepted immediately. [name_m]Matt[/name_m] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] decided to change the three younger children’s names. [name_f]Katlin[/name_f] usually went by [name_f]Katie[/name_f] and hated that people always mispronounced her full name so decided to change her name to [name_f]Katie[/name_f]. She changed her middle name to [name_f]Alice[/name_f], to thank [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_m]Matt[/name_m] for what they had done for her.

Jagger, Buzz, Royal, & Wolf were born to teen parents in Wilmington, NC. They didn’t know how to take care of children & the mother did not stop drinking during any of her pregnacies. Their father later became a drug addict & started abusing them, shortly after Royal was born. The kind neighbor lady who watched them while their mother went to college and their father to work, who noticed that they were starting to shy away from touches and already suspected Jagger, at least, had fetal alcohol syndrome, called social services on them. When the police got there, they found the mother, pregnant again, passed out whilst surrounded by beer bottles and the father beating Royal, then 9 months old. Jagger, Buzz, and Royal went to the same foster home, together but when the baby, whom their mother named Wolf, was born the couple the older three were staying with could not take him. That couple was old friends with Oliver, and knowing he had a foster license, told him of their plight. Oliver and Annabeth finalized the adoption in two or so months, and changed the boy’s names to make their lives easier.

Adelie & Alyssa were born to Jonathan & Rachel Alcott in Charlotte, NC. They’re mother was shot in an armed robbery attempt at her job, when Adelie was three & Alyssa, new born while their father died in service, shortly after Alyssa was born. They had no other family, and so went to foster care. Adelie was fostered by a kindly old couple whom was never able to have children in Washington, DC while Alyssa was fostered by an grouchy old woman in Colby, KS. Both of their foster parents died shortly after Adelie turned five (Alyssa was one going on two), and Adelie requested to be put with her sister in her next placement. Their social worker called, Oliver and Annabeth, due to Adelie’s request and they could take them. They did not change their names fully because Adelie wished to keep them as one of the things, they had left of their parents.

Indigo, Olive, & Jade were born in Raleigh, NC to an sickly mother and absent father. Their mother had lung cancer and died from it. Shortly, after they were found in the house by social services. None of their relatives would take them so they went to foster care. Indigo was placed with an young, just-starting-out, couple, in Boone, NC while Olive was placed with an elderly fellow in Asheville, NC, & Jade was taken by a single mother in Durham, NC. It later turned out, the young couple couldn’t cope, the elderly fellow couldn’t keep up with a two year old, & the single mother didn’t take care of her children. Their social worker called Oliver and Annabeth when no-one else would take them even apart. Oliver and Annabeth said they could take them, all together, and so they did. They liked their name’s as they were and only switched their middles to more common spellings.

Ariella & Roberta were born to Dalia & Winston Spears in Charleston, SC. Their parents were arrested shortly after Roberta’s birth for multiple counts of tax evasion. The children were taken in by Dalia’s elder sister, Miley, shortly after. Miley took care of them as best she could but she’d never had children of her own due to her bipolar diagnosis. She often had bipolar episodes and would accidently harm the children. When social services, found out about that they, of course, took the children away from her. Next, they called the children’s next, next of kin, Annabeth Harris, whom was Winston’s distant cousin. Annabeth and her husband Oliver said they would take them. They changed their names to names they liked better shortly after.

Julie and Emma were born to an dead mother and a abusive, druggie father. By the time, they were one and two, they had moved countless times to evade the police. Of course, they could not evade the police forever, though and soon enough their father was caught and they were found. Their social worker called their next of kin thorough their mother, Oliver Harris, and asked if he could take them. He talked it over with his wife, and they decided to take them. They changed their names to what their mother had wanted them to be.

[name_f]Sadie[/name_f], [name_u]Nolan[/name_u], & [name_u]Eli[/name_u] were born to teenaged parents, both in the foster system. [name_f]Adelie[/name_f] [name_m]Johnston[/name_m] & [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] [name_m]Williams[/name_m] were placed in the same foster home, where they, quickly, discovered that they liked each other as more than just foster siblings. They dated for a while (without the foster parents knowing) & finally, decided to take each other to bed. [name_f]Nine[/name_f] months after that, [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] came into the world. They named her after two of Adelie’s favorite singers. They were separated for a while, but, ended up together in another foster home a year later. They, of course, ‘celebrated’ their reunion as soon as possible. Once again, nine months later, [name_u]Nolan[/name_u] was born. They named him after one of Malachi’s favorite Robins’ & of course, the city where Batman & his Robins’ reside in. Repeat what happened after Sadie’s birth & a year after that, [name_u]Eli[/name_u] was born. They decided to continue what they did with Nolan’s name & named him after Malachi’s second favorite superhero franchise. They were all taken from [name_f]Adelie[/name_f] & [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] at birth & given to the same infant-based foster home. [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] & [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] were called in due to the fact that [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] was about to outgrow it & they would end up separated.

She goes through about sixteen boyfriends a year depending on what they can do for her.
