…Is how I’m beginning to feel! We’ve got 6 weeks left and are no closer to a name! The list that refuses to shrink because I love every girls’ name and DH is pickier than ever so it has undergone a revamp, but this is the final one!
We’d like a name that goes with big sister [name]Tessa[/name], and our last name is [name]Crosby[/name]- here’s the list:
[name]Celia[/name] ([name]Celia[/name] C…Celiac disease?)
[name]Elise[/name]
[name]Emma[/name]
[name]Evelyn[/name] (hate nickname [name]Evie[/name] and how it sounds with our last name so she’ll be called [name]Evelyn[/name])
[name]Isla[/name]
[name]Jocelyn[/name]
[name]Natalie[/name]
Ok, let’s get [name]Tessa[/name]'s sister named…My fave is in bold. Good luck!
[name]Celia[/name] - [name]Lovely[/name] name but I personally would avoid another name ending in “a”.
[name]Elise[/name] - Beautiful name but kind of a tongue twister with [name]Tessa[/name]. It may be the ss’s.
[name]Emma[/name] - Too rhymey. [name]Do[/name] you mind [name]Emily[/name]? [name]Evelyn[/name] - This is my fave with [name]Tessa[/name]. I’m glad you’re going with [name]Evelyn[/name] and not with a nn. I like the fact that it has its own unique ending. [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Crosby[/name] has a great flow too!
[name]Isla[/name] - See [name]Emma[/name]
[name]Jocelyn[/name] - This would have been my second choice for [name]Tessa[/name]'s sibling but I’m not fond of the sound of [name]Jocelyn[/name] [name]Crosby[/name] together.
[name]Natalie[/name] - OK but lacks spark next to [name]Tessa[/name]. [name]Natalie[/name] [name]Crosby[/name] is matchy too!
I would go with [name]Evelyn[/name] for [name]Tessa[/name]'s sister. All the best!
My favorites with [name]Tessa[/name] are [name]Elise[/name], [name]Jocelyn[/name], and [name]Natalie[/name]. I think you need something with a bit of a classic feel, but certainly young, vibrant, and spunky. To me, [name]Evelyn[/name] is much too heavy and vintage to blend with the sassy [name]Tessa[/name]. [name]Elise[/name] [name]Crosby[/name] is simple and sweet, [name]Jocelyn[/name] [name]Crosby[/name] is modern and unexpected, and [name]Natalie[/name] [name]Crosby[/name] is elegant and lady-like. I don’t mind the fact that [name]Natalie[/name] and [name]Crosby[/name] end in the “ee” sound because they have different syllable counts, but I agree that [name]Tessa[/name] and [name]Elise[/name] are hard to say back-to-back. That being said, I’d probably choose [name]Nat[/name]!
All of the names on your list sound good with your ln, I think, so that makes it easier!
[name]Tessa[/name] and [name]Celia[/name]: not mad about [name]Celia[/name], it lacks [name]Tessa[/name]'s energy.
[name]Tessa[/name] and [name]Elise[/name]- Pretty
[name]Tessa[/name] and [name]Emma[/name]- too rhymie
[name]Tessa[/name] and [name]Evelyn[/name]- the sound of this works well because of the different endings, and I love both names, but they feel very different in character to me.
[name]Tessa[/name] and [name]Isla[/name]- the character and energy of [name]Isla[/name] suits [name]Tessa[/name] the best I think. This is probably my favourite. [name]Isla[/name] [name]Jocelyn[/name] [name]Crosby[/name]?
[name]Tessa[/name] and [name]Jocelyn[/name]- see [name]Evelyn[/name]
[name]Tessa[/name] and [name]Natalie[/name]- my least favourite
[name]Hope[/name] you don’t mind another possibility for your list, but a friend of mine has named her two little girls [name]Tessa[/name] and [name]Molly[/name] which always sounds lovely to me. All the best with it!
My vote goes to [name]Natalie[/name]. I think it’s such a pretty name. I also like [name]Evelyn[/name], but I think you’ll always be hearing people (school friends etc) call her [name]Evie[/name] which you hate, so I wouldn’t go for that one.
I think [name]Elise[/name] goes best with [name]Tessa[/name] and I love how they are both sophisticated, sleek and yet also sweet and feminine at the same time. I think [name]Eliza[/name] and [name]Tessa[/name] would be superb, but I imagine you have already ruled it out? [name]Natalie[/name] or [name]Natalia[/name] nn [name]Natasha[/name] would be my second choice from your list.
[name]Celia[/name] ([name]Celia[/name] C…Celiac disease?)
[name]Elise[/name]
[name]Emma[/name]
[name]Evelyn[/name] (hate nickname [name]Evie[/name] and how it sounds with our last name so she’ll be called [name]Evelyn[/name])
[name]Isla[/name]
[name]Jocelyn[/name]
[name]Natalie[/name]
My favourites are [name]Elise[/name], [name]Emma[/name] and [name]Isla[/name]-
[name]Evelyn[/name] will almost certainly get shortened to evie-
My favorite is actually [name]Celia[/name]. I think the a ending works well with the y ending of your last name, as with [name]Tessa[/name]. And I like the double C initials.
But I worry that if you’re already thinking celiac disease, this is not a great choice for you.
[name]Emma[/name] way too popular, [name]Isla[/name] too trendy. [name]Evelyn[/name] and [name]Jocelyn[/name] both work because of the consonant ending and three syllables as contrasts to your last name.
I like [name]Elise[/name] too, just personally prefer [name]Celia[/name] as a name.
Another y ending as with [name]Natalie[/name] does not work, I think.
At least I hope you can now narrow your list to [name]Celia[/name], [name]Elise[/name], [name]Evelyn[/name], and [name]Jocelyn[/name]!
My favorite is [name]Jocelyn[/name]! It’s so classy, unexpected, and goes beautifully with [name]Tessa[/name] in terms of style and energy.
I also like [name]Celia[/name], but maybe not the best choice if it makes you think of celiac disease (I don’t think most people would make this association, though.)
[name]Natalie[/name] is also really pretty with [name]Tessa[/name], and I don’t think the repeating endings of [name]Natalie[/name] [name]Crosby[/name] is bad enough to be a deal-breaker. (but don’t you have a [name]Nate[/name]? sorry if I’m mixing you up with someone else!)
[name]Elise[/name] is pretty, but seems a little too soft next to [name]Tessa[/name].
[name]Evelyn[/name] just isn’t a personal favorite.
I love [name]Celia[/name] from your list. I would not have made the connection to celiac disease and even now that you mentioned it, it doesn’t bother me.
[name]Jocelyn[/name] is probably my second choice, although I like [name]Evelyn[/name] and [name]Elise[/name] too. (I think you can avoid nn [name]Evie[/name] if you choose).
[name]Emma[/name] doesn’t shine like [name]Tessa[/name] because of overexposure; [name]Isla[/name] is just ok. To me, [name]Natalie[/name] [name]Crosby[/name] makes me think of [name]Nat[/name] [name]King[/name] [name]Cole[/name] and [name]Bing[/name] [name]Crosby[/name]. This may just be me.
I would remove [name]Emma[/name], [name]Isla[/name], [name]Natalie[/name] from the list and rank as follows:
You can’t go wrong with any of those names. They’re all great so I can see why you’re having such a hard time with the final decision. My favorite is [name]Jocelyn[/name]. It’s fun and vibrant but I can picture it on an adult as well as a baby. I also think it sounds great with your other daughter’s name. Good luck with whatever you decide
