[name_u]Emlyn[/name_u]'s grandfather – the [name_m]Lord[/name_m] of Gladhill. He is a wise, fair leader. During the twenty years war, he tried his best to stay out of it, and to keep his people out of it, which led to some tension between him and the king, though many respected his decision. Though his decisions are sometimes controversial, he is generally well-liked and trusted by many. He has a warmth and friendliness about him and tends to treat everyone the same, be they high or low-born. He has a good sense of humour, but knows when it is time to be a serious leader. Sometimes when he takes on the role of the leader he can be be cold and stern. He is fiercely protective of his family.
Perhaps a name that relates to wisdom or power?
[name_u]Emlyn[/name_u]'s grandmother – Refusing to leave the care of the delicate [name_u]Emlyn[/name_u] in the hands of servants, she oversees most of [name_u]Emlyn[/name_u]'s care herself and is heavily involved in all things pertaining to her granddaughter. She favours [name_u]Emlyn[/name_u] as her first born but cares deeply for all of her family and plays a substantial role in everyone’s lives. Not only is she the heart of the family, she is the heart of Gladhill, and many others rely on her for support and advice. She speaks her mind when need be, but also knows when to stand behind her husband and keep her eyes down.
I considered [name_f]Vanora[/name_f] and [name_f]Azenor[/name_f]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like any of those? Have any other suggestions?
[name_u]Emlyn[/name_u]'s eldest brother – two years younger than [name_u]Emlyn[/name_u] and recently married, he has recently grown up quite a lot. He and [name_u]Emlyn[/name_u] had a turmultuous relationship growing up, but now he has matured and settled down.
[name_u]Emlyn[/name_u]'s sister-in-law – though shy around strangers, she tends to brighten up around those she knows well and can be rather talkative at times. She is very attatched to [name_u]Emlyn[/name_u]'s brother and often clings to him. She is a very obedient wife and a doting mother. When her husband is not around, she is happy to gossip with [name_u]Emlyn[/name_u], though she often gets nervous in large crowds of people she does not know. At fifteen, she is four years younger than her husband.
I considered [name_f]Briallen[/name_f]. Thoughts? Any other suggestions?
Their baby – The baby of [name_u]Emlyn[/name_u]'s eldest brother and his wife, he is three months old. The youngest of the babies, he is the quietest and the sweetest. He has mouse brown hair and honey coloured eyes.
Maybe something that means loved, precious, miracle etc?
[name_u]Emlyn[/name_u]'s aunt – [name_u]Emlyn[/name_u]'s young aunt is only thirteen years her senior. Though they disagree on some things and their arguments can be fierce, they are very close and [name_u]Emlyn[/name_u]'s aunt is always there for her when she needs her.
[name_u]Emlyn[/name_u]'s uncle-in-law – a sweet family man who would do anything for his wife and child and gets on particularly well with [name_u]Emlyn[/name_u].
Their child – Nearing one, their son is rather advanced for his age. He is also the most demanding of the three babies, not afraid to make his wants and needs known with the loudest cry of them all.
[name_u]Emlyn[/name_u]'s mother – [name_u]Emlyn[/name_u]'s mother was humiliated after the birth of [name_u]Emlyn[/name_u]'s sister when her husband fled in the dead of night to join his mistress. Resorting to black magic, she stopped his heart before anyone could learn of it, and his mistress, terrified of being blamed herself for the death of such an influential man, dragged his body to the woods. His death remains a mystery to this day. She tries her best to be a good mother to her children but the betrayal of their father still haunts her. She often makes controversial decisions and gets into arguments with her parents, but she knows that family is important and will always try to be there for them when they need her.
[name_u]Emlyn[/name_u]'s uncle – He defied his father to go and fight in the twenty years war, believing that it was important to fight for his country. While fighting, he met a Glorian woman who was being held by soldiers in their camp and abused. They struck up a relationship and he set her free. When the war ended, he brought her home with him and married her. She was already with child, and [name_u]Emlyn[/name_u] confirmed that it was his child (it’s not his child, [name_u]Emlyn[/name_u] fainted and threw up after that meeting). He is a loving father to the child, though he worries for the frail child’s health. He is a very protective, perhaps slightly possessive, husband, who worries deeply for his wife’s safety and well being. He has very good intentions but sometimes he can take his quest to protect a little too far.

[name_u]Emlyn[/name_u]'s aunt-in-law (note: [name_m]French[/name_m] name needed) Originally a Glorian noblewoman, she was captured by Aurian soldiers, held in thepr camp and r*ped countless times. Eventually tired of the abuse, she started making deals with the soldiers, offering to submit willingly in exchange for priveliges. By the time [name_u]Emlyn[/name_u]'s uncle came along, she was a prisoner in name only, but she saw her chance in him to seduce an important man, knowing that if she could make him think he had gotten her with child, he would marry her after the war. Now that she is married, she has trinkets and jewels galore, but she is still not satisfied. She does not love her husband, though she is an expert at pretending to. She has many secret affairs, engages in other unladylike behaviour (smoking, drinking) and cares little for her child, as he is a reminder of her days in captivity.
Their baby – Their baby was born with many health problems. He is now almost three years of age, yet he cannot speak, nor walk. He has a very weak immune system and the healers are constantly working on him.
Also, any ideas for surnames for them? I considered Chynoweth and Edevane. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like either of those? Any other suggestions?
