To me, it’s the hardest thing ever and the worse crossroads to have to come to when writing. Yet, here I am trying to decide whether or not I should change the name of one of main characters.
Okay so his name is [name]Steven[/name]. He’s the twin brother to [name]Charlene[/name] (nn [name]Charly[/name]. the ‘ch’ pronounced like ‘sh’). As a side note, I’m still not entirely in love with her name either and the story basically revolves around her. Anyway…
Their last name is [name]Paige[/name]. In the story I also call him [name]Stevie[/name]. I don’t like that much either. If you’re wondering why I even chose these names in the first place, it’s because I didn’t put much planning into it really. The story was sort of a spur of the moment idea that snowballed. Not something that I usually do.
The story is set in both now, 2012, and 1947 (it’s time travel via [name]Charlene[/name]'s accident induced coma.) So if I change [name]Steven[/name]'s name, it has to have that vintage feel. I’ve tried warming up to [name]Joe[/name] and [name]George[/name] but it’s just not clicking for me. I want to change his name, but nothing seems to fit.
If it helps, he has dark brown hair and clear ocean blue eyes. As for his personality, that’s still under construction since I’ve focused more on [name]Charlene[/name] and their mother. However, I can say that he’s what I would call sporty but not jockish. Not super polished. Not the rebellious type or the shy type. He’s just nicely in the middle.
