I have a top 12 for boys that I’m truly happy with ([name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_u]Avery[/name_u], [name_m]Grayson[/name_m], [name_m]Zane[/name_m], [name_u]Bailey[/name_u], [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], [name_m]Boaz[/name_m], [name_m]Brody[/name_m], [name_u]Spencer[/name_u], and [name_m]Asher[/name_m]), and a top 13 for girls. The OCD in me just wants to have an even amount of names on each gender’s list. If I can’t find anything I love just as much, I’ll probably just let it go, but I figured I’d take a look at these names just one more time. These are the ones I’m considering–wdyt of them, and do they match up with my other favorites? Favorites?

Oh, [name_m]Declan[/name_m]! Apparently (although this is from Wikipedia, so probably not), [name_m]Saint[/name_m] [name_m]Declan[/name_m] was one of the four first saints to bring Christianity to [name_f]Ireland[/name_f] before St. [name_m]Patrick[/name_m]. And it means “full of goodness”, from the Gaelic “deag” (good) and “lan” (full). Not that I’m trying to push you in any particular direction or anything… But [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] is lovely too, reminds me of [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] Keating (“When You [name_m]Say[/name_m] Nothing At All” was the song of my childhood) Anyway, good luck, I’ve made my feelings clear at least
I love [name_m]Leopold[/name_m], but not sure it fits? I think [name_m]Calvin[/name_m], [name_m]Declan[/name_m], and [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] all fit well with your style, but you already have a [name_u]Cal[/name_u] and you already have a -son. So that leaves [name_m]Declan[/name_m]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] it!
I also think [name_u]Noah[/name_u], [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] and [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] all fit with your style. I think you could add any one or 2 of them. I think you need 2 more girl names to make both lists an even (odd) 15.
@emsky - I don’t know if [name_m]Leopold[/name_m] fits or not, haha, but it’s been on my radar for years and I really love it! It’s my favorite way to [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. Besides, I think it could fit in well with some of these, like [name_u]Everett[/name_u] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] (especially with the nn [name_m]Leo[/name_m]) and maybe even [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]. I think you’re probably right about the top 15–and I even have two I’ve been seriously thinking of adding ([name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_f]Zara[/name_f]), but having a top 15 always seems so unruly and unmanageable! I can’t seem to ever handle more than a top 13, haha. It’s a weird number, but at least there’s the same number for each gender.
I think [name_m]Silas[/name_m] is out… I like it, and I was REALLY crushing on it the other night, but my brother adores Duck Dynasty, and I am not really sure I could go there. I agree that [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] and [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] are probably too close to [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] and [name_m]Grayson[/name_m], too, so I feel like I should nix them. I just keep coming back to them, but they never seem to measure up to [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] and [name_m]Grayson[/name_m]. [name_m]Le[/name_m] sigh.
I’m tossing around [name_m]Grant[/name_m] quite seriously, too–I’ve fallen for it pretty massively in the past couple weeks (months?) and it’s just so lovely, imo. I’m just not sure if I prefer it up front or as a middle? It probably helps that I knew a [name_m]Grant[/name_m] in high school who wore it so incredibly well. [name_m]Grant[/name_m], [name_m]Grant[/name_m], [name_m]Grant[/name_m]. [name_m]Le[/name_m] sigh. I just don’t know where to put him.
I sort of love that, if that’s legitimate! I’m not Catholic by any means but I can appreciate the spreading of Christianity from wherever it stems, and I do have some Irish ancestry. I, too, really love [name_m]Declan[/name_m]'s meaning. I just never seem to like it paired with anything (not in a combo, not as a sibling)… I don’t know. I just find it hard to work with, so it usually gets dropped. I do love it, though, and have tossed around [name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u], [name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_u]Avery[/name_u], [name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], and [name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] in the past.
At this point, [name_m]Grant[/name_m], [name_m]Declan[/name_m], and [name_m]Leopold[/name_m] are the top contenders.
