Firstly, I have two boys names planned, Tolliver, and Mercer. I have two middle names that I really like, Alexander, and Christopher. Unfortunately, all of those names end with -er, and that makes them less flowy, and more choppy. Does anyone have any variations of these names? They’re both important to me for sentimental value, so I’d like a variation of them, but if you have any other names with a similar style, feel free to mention them.
Secondly, I have two girls names planned, Romilly, and Briony. The names Deborah, Margaret, and Dorothy are sentimental to me, but I don’t quite like any of them enough to use them. Same as the boys, I’d like to hear any variations, or similar names anyone might have for these three.
Well, I cannot explain why but, Tolliver Alexander and Mercer Christopher I think are fine, and will grow on you too. But I wouldn’t say the same if the middle names were swapped. Maybe it has to do with how they flow with the first vowel sounds in each first name? I don’t think you need to give up the names entirely, just choose which you like most and give it to your first but.
Regarding variations in the girls names, there’s Dori and Dottie in place of Dorothy. And Marjorie and Meg and Maggie in place of Margaret. Deb for Deborah.
Could you potentially switch the genders for family names? [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Ebba[/name_f] (I would use this as a nn for [name_f]Deborah[/name_f], but I still think it works for an honor name) [name_f][/name_f]Ora/Rora/Oriana
